I made it so they start spinning at around 50C. You can adjust the curve in the MSI gaming app.
WD Black is known to be faster.
I likie! Its nice that the lighting isn't over done, and is more subtle than sticking 4 RGB strips in there.
Ive always wondered, how do those infinite "hallways" work? I assume it has something to do with mirrors.
I like to think a 40 Inch 4K TV in front of you is kinda like a 32 Inch ultrawide, just 16:9 instead of 21:9.
Not enough pictures.
Thermaltake fans. Probably the best in terms of looks (I M O)
Fking fantastic and safe choice of parts.
Its a high clocked Xeon. AKA, its for those who do things that require alot of cores but also do gaming that requires good clock speeds.
Full loop in a 60 dollar case? Thats impressive. +1
These are the questions that need answering.
Lots of things have changed since this build submission! With a little help from a person who was an expert on Noctua products, I got some advice for mounting and finally managed to get the noctua cooler on. I haven't tried overclocking yet, since stock is serving me well, but I will soon! The Aircooler is actually doing really well. Rendering 4K video gives the CPU 100 percent load and its keeping it at a nice and stable 50C.
If you wanted to make it look even more like a Storm Trooper, you should get the CM Storm Stryker or the CM MasterCase Pro 5 and paint it white. Nice build :D
Welcome to the X99 club. I have the 5820K, and combined with some good RAM its really easy to work with 4K video.
Old build, and not to be really uptight, but in your review of that Asrock Motherboard, one of your "negatives" was that the board was longer than usual, even though it advertises itself as EATX, and not just ATX.
G2s are awesome.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Nice. I didn't even know that heatsink could fit in there.
It must not get that hot (compared to other ITX builds) with all those fans in there, eh?
Chances are he built this quite a bit ago and decided to post it now. Idk :\
Well reasearched and thought out build! +1
All Frostbite games take ages to load on a regular HDD, including BF1. He will benefit loading BF games off an SSD.
That desk! moans
I believe you can disable one while running windows if you have any problems. BarnaculuesNerdgasm (**** i hope thats right) has a dual Xeon and I think he has a quickswitch for when something isnt working he can just disable one CPU.
3d design, eh? If youd like to check something out, BenQ and ASUS have a good lineup of 1440P and 4k professional monitors under $1K. They have a wider color spectrum (I think) and have features that might help you in that category.
Lian-Li is a great company for cases. Im thinking of doing my next build in one of them.
Yes. The only reason I took the cover off was I forgot to plug some cables into the PSU so to make it easier I had to take it off.
If you can get a motherboard thats good to go along with it, thats perfect. There may be some complications along the way, but it should be worth it once you get it fully working.
Clever. Best to luck with your beast of a machine!
Also, How did you fit a SSI-EEB board into the 750D? Im assuming it took some patience and blocked a few rubber grommets :D
A little relic from Twitchcon 2015 that I kept. Its "Paladins: Champions of The Realm" T-shirt.
Very good for rendering and recording. Hyperthreading works miracles, especially when its 6 cores that are being hyperthreaded :D
Nah, Its been running fine off my old 750 ti (lowered settings to get better performance) so I think im fine.
How do you think those two quad-cores stack up to a single 5960X or equivalent?
Dont some stores sell little heat-sinks specifically for VRMs?
Caviar blues are amazing. I use one for my main recording drive.
Nvm just saw the release date.
Wait, really? I just bought 5820K. :(
insert comment about how you could have saved money and that you should cut yourself for buying this stuff
Seriously though, nice build. Especially the motherboard choice.
Good case, eh? I have one sitting around waiting for my motherboard to arrive. Its REALLY modular compared to my old Corsair 450D
Had to send mobo back since 3 pins were bent, so I had to RMA it. The new one shipped yesterday, so ill try and get some more pics in :D
Shadowplay is useful, and Plays.tv simply cant replace shadowplay.
That fio e10 is quite highly rated, however im still trying to see if I can get a mic input also on one machine. The Sennheiser thing you listed (I have one) is for Dolby Digital Surround, which may be good for gaming but it distorts and muddy-fies music if you try it on with what I listen to. Im thinking the Soundblaster E1, but im still not sure. :\
Oh I forgot to mention, Im planning on doing small photowork for people's website and such, and as a hobby. Yea I would have stuck with a 6700K if I was JUST doing youtube since I have such a small fanbase :D
I challenge you to remove the shroud and fans on the GPU and try and put some 120 MM Noctuas on that :D
Holy balls theres alot of Phanteks Enthoo Evolv cases in the CB section. +1 for the motherboard.
I THINK the 1080 is like one 980 ti and a quarter, not sure but thats what the benchmarks look like.
Im fairly sure this version comes with a backplate either way, but some people like all the components showing, so it may be preference. He also could have gotten it used for a good price and it simply didnt come with the backplate.
Oh yea, you might want to consider the date of the build, and all those watercooling components.
1070s will perform a bit better and scale a bit better also, but the 980 TIs will last so damn long.
