Yeah they get so many good reviews and have seen them recommended a lot. Thanks for the reply!

KRK claim that the headphones sound as close to the monitors as possible so that you get consistency, no matter which you are using. As you say I've heard a lot of good things about the monitors so it is very tempting! Guess all I can do is go and try some out!

Cheers! Got the Silverstone extensions from Overclockers UK I think. Really nice quality, bit stiff at first though so you have to force them into shape a bit, which is why I picked up some cable combs aswell.

Thanks alot! The K70 is amazing, took a bit of getting used to but I would definitely recommend it. Glad I went for the brown switches aswell, really nice middle ground.

Your build looks awesome, that screen is amazing!

Yeah I've been really happy with the 970 so far. Obviously its not the fastest but I really think it offers the best price/performance ratio at the moment. It has a relatively high number of CUDA cores and enough memory (despite the 3.5gb controversy) to store complex scenes. Ran a couple of the most recent Cycles Benchmarks and it performed really well. Either way its a massive improvement on CPU rendering with an old i5.

Current monitor is an 23" IPS. I got it in a really good sale so am waiting for it to go on sale again before I snap up a second one.

Thanks, glad you like it!

I did consider the Krait for a while actually. I'll admit it probably would have looked better in the build but the Asus seemed like a better buy in my opinion.

Good luck with the i3! Why not do your own Xeon build?

No worries! I've got my build all together now, there was a fair bit of sag so I just supported it with a bit of carbon fibre tubing which doesn't look too bad.

Yeah I'm sure it should be fine, just wondering if it means one fan is always spinning at 100%. Alternatively I might not use the splitter cable at all and just use the CPU_OPT fan header for the second fan. Thanks for the reply though!

Lovely build! Was just hoping you could help me out with a question about the Phanteks TC12DX? Just wondering which fan you plugged into which connector on the Y splitter cable? I noticed one is three pin and one is 4 pin. Does this mean only one fan is PWM controlled? Thanks

Hadn't spotted this one before, looks much nicer than the other TP-Link ones I've seen around. Thanks, Ill have a look into it!

Just been upgraded to fibre optic so it runs pretty fast at times, not as fast as I had hoped though but I live in a student house with lost of people connected.

Good find! Thanks a lot, will have a little look for some reviews/other builds using it. Definitely looks black so it could be a winner.

Did consider both but I've already purchased the Mobo and from what I read USB adapters seem to be less reliable. Have you ever tried a USB one?

Okay, thanks for the help. I'll probably just go with the card anyway as all the 970's seem to have some problems with sag. I'll just have to come up with some way of supporting it like you suggested! Cheers

Currently planning a build for the same purpose as you and am pretty much set on going for the Xeon. The only thing I'm struggling with is the motherboard. How has the Asus H97 been? Any problems? Any particular reason you chose it? Awesome build though, absolutely love the 540 case!

Any problems fitting the 970? I've read in some places that the SATA ports on the mobo stop larger cards fitting properly? Really want to go with the strix card and krait motherboard, looks so good together!

Any reason you went for the EVGA 970 over the ASUS Strix?
