xilinx or altera?
Why do you want to go that route?
No, because I have the CPU overclocked also
oh sorry I need to take this down, already got one thanks though
No you don't, the stock cpu cooler that comes with the cpu would suffice till you get an aftermarket cooler to overclock
Which is great I agree, at the time of my comment the only thing OP had said was in the description which said heavy gaming
If the main purpose of this build is gaming, you should of went with an i5 and 8gbs of ram and spent the savings to get a 970.
That is a crazy good deal for the cpu mb and ssd. dang.
I have that monitor and love it. Would def recommend.
Says buying right in the title
Is it really worth the risk instead of getting possibly 500/550 which could still fit in that case.
450W PSU is cutting it way too close
The 850 Pro Series is 289, evo 200 btw.
850 evo is 99.
Also I would try and get something better than bronze PSU and slightly higher wattage IMO. Especially seeing as it wont matter what color it is because it will be covered in your case.
I like it, save you from dealing with updating the bios on the z87 board
I'd get a z97 board
I mean if its free it still a good CPU
ya but semi modular and only bronze certified
I would change the PSU just to get a little more heard room: here is a 650 Watt gold certified and full modular for 20 cents more.
OH that's my bad, you did state that this was from an upgrade. I love that case. I want it!
Love the build, but how come you decided on that CPU cooler as opposed to a dual rad such as the H100i or a kraken?
I recommend getting a z97 board instead so you dont have to deal with bios update and not micro atx.
Here is an option for $79 but it isn't black/red, cheapest black and red I could find was 100+:
I have that monitor, you wont be disappointed.
They are removable, the H100i is actually mounted to the frame of the case it is hard to tell from the picture(was able to do this with the mounting brackets provided). The two top fans are pretty much flush to the radiator, I did it this way to have a push pull config through the radiator without having to have even more fans. I can get some better picture if you would like.
I suggest a z97 board seeing as you are getting the unlocked CPU and an aftermarket cooler. What is the point if you can't even overclock the CPU.
This is a suggestion and only 6 dollars more than your current MB:
650w is plenty even with overclocking
It doesnt make sense to get an APU with an r9 290x
This cost even less.
Get a Z97 board instead of 87, should be able to find one for the same price
The blue on the GPU is driving me nuts, I wonder if you can paint it
All CPUs need a cooler of some sort, what you mean I'm assuming is do you need an aftermarket cooler. If you are not overclocking no you do not, the stock cooler the processor comes with would suffice. Overclocking is used to get a bit more performance out of your CPU which wouldn't have too much effect on running warlords of dreanor. However the benefit of getting a K CPU would allow you to OC in the future if you decide to with only having to get a CPU cooler and of course having a Z97 motherboard.
The 6 dollar difference seems trivial and seeing how affordable Z97 boards with little saving compared the the h97 for a basic board you might as well get the k version for possibly OCing in the future.
So what do you use this for?
Nope, OP corrected below in comments. Should be 118.50
18.50 for the motherboard?
look at the 144hz monitors.
This is a very popular one at ~250
The red motherboard is driving me nut wish it was blue but still I like your part selection. Could be a little neater inside also.
So much white in that room lol, would be a shame if someone split some coffee
This is exactly my solution right now, I just use the 1440p IPS monitor for my main gaming screen and just have a cheap secondary 1080p monitor for webpages and other random crap that I need when I'm gaming. For my needs I even decided against getting a 3rd monitor or replacing my 2nd with 1440.
I think there was some better priced combos. Also Newegg had a 10% off your cart coupon if you used their mobile site, so in a way you could save some money.
Seeing as you only have a 600W PSU I'm assuming your not going to SLI in the future.
So something like this would suffice:
If you might SLI in the future this would be good:
I'd say get a 970 over that 290x, better performance and cheaper. Take some of that savings and get an h100i instead for the dual rad for better cooling.
Also to save money IMO get a cheaper optical drive.
Was thinking the same thing, and a EVGA pro sli bridge would be nice
Buy an extension if you can't make it reach.
The CPU cable across the front is driving me nuts
Had this in my other comment: "I would be willing to negotiate to $350 if they have all the stuff that came with it and/or the back-plate" Also check ebay 300 to 350 easily for USED. Seeing as some of the new ones are < 450. I'm not in a hurry though and I like the PCPP community that is why I haven't just bought one from ebay yet.
Still looking, does not have to be that exact model or brand but it must have an after market cooler
Correct me if this isn't a good idea but could you have the rear fan but run all you intakes at a higher RPM and slow down your exhausts?
