I added an EVGA GT 710 2GB graphics card and a BenQ GW2270 21.5" 1080p LED Monitor. In the mail is the AMD Athlon X4 845 Quad-core (4 Core) 3.50 GHz Processor. Just taking the graphics load from the CPU has boosted speed considerably. Can't wait to add this new CPU. Later, I will upgrade to 16 GB RAM and bigger HD's. I have the two internal HD's in a Windows RAID stripe 5.
Minesweeper will be faster than ever !!! I may even try Tetris.
There has been zero hardware failures so far (going on 2 years).
What is that black thing on the front in the first pic?
I've heard that about the Air. Too bad cuz I'll never know.
Yes, 40 whole diskettes in one box and you don't have to swap them. Can you imagine?
If you like sci-fi movies, try Lucy with Scarlet Johannson if you haven't already.
They aren't going to stop until the MacChip is implanted in everyone's head with a direct link to Langley, VA. And people will walk into walls a lot. Oh wait, they're already doing that.
I don't know.
Wow. Before my first computer in '85; a Mac Plus. 1 megabyte RAM, 1 floppy drive, 9" B&W builtin monitor: $1600. I added a 40 megabyte (!!!) HD for around $400 (!!!). I wish I didn't sell it.
What model? Your builds say AM3+.
You, on the other hand, have some nice photos. Did you take those with a DSLR or an iPhony?
Oh, and if it ever comes back to life, I will put Ubuntu on it.
Will do. Might just be a "radiator" to get my feet wet lol. Sorry, I couldn't help it. :D
What I really want to do is the real deal with hoses and reservoirs and stuff. Researching is half the fun.
Yep, there it is. You got it. $2500 new in 2011. Still... fixing myself a possibility though. I have to take it the "genius bar" for an eval. Thinking of selling as is if I can't fix. Thanks.
How do you like the Asus? I used to use them exclusively but thought I'd try something different. I'm real happy with my Gigabyte. Next PSU might could be Corsair.
LOL, I met him once while building a PC. Sent me flying.
Awesome, thank you so much.
Thanks !!! I forgot how much fun it is. I swear I'm gonna build a water cooled monster next. Just need some bucks.
I originally bought a $20 "Apevia Venus Series" 450w for this but I chickened out when I read someones review that it went down in flames literally. Maybe true; maybe not who knows but not taking that chance. So what do you think I used to build and test most of this PC while I waited for the new EVGA? Yep, Mr $20 and it worked just fine. It probably would be OK if I just left it in there. But anyway... I have it for backup and testing.
Totally. And Mahjong on the high setting smokes.
Yes, they could. When I opened them in Lightroom, I was aghast. Better pics next time I promise. Thanks.
