I didn't catch the prior experience thing earlier.

Each case is its own. Philando was shot because the officer got over jumpy, but court made that decision... Daniel was shot because he reached behind him and the officer thought he saw a threat. Again, court decided it was a horrible accident.

From the crappy video we see of this one, the kid is running but didn't look to be reaching, so way different circumstances. Every case is its own though, that's the important part

If you already built the thing, then it proves your scamming or you wouldn't be asking for money TO build it. Again, if you had been an established member here, I wouldn't question it... But talk about red flags!

There are times that even shooting someone in the back thats running away might not be murder... but thats a way more nuanced topic with way too many variables...

I actually wont be surprised if they toss this rookie under the bus. If they find that he acted wrongly, you can bet your *** they will hang him in court... He will likely get off, but might not. Politicians want peace and a fresh cop is easy to throw to the wolves and easy to explain how they could have been so wrong... at the very least, that cop just lost a career on day 1 unless some wild facts come out in his favor.

Again, thats likely the case, but its not for us to decide with our limited knowledge on the event. If you had said you THOUGH the officer was fully in the wrong instead of asserting that he factually must be, then we would not be having this argument.

I think he screwed up based on the little i know, but i wont state my thought as the fact.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Should you run from cops during a traffic stop?"

What my training and experience taught me is that unless you were there, then you have no idea what happened or why. Anyone can look at a few facts after an event and come up with how it went wrong, but in the moment with the totality of the circumstances, you have no idea what that officer knew or believed. He will be writing reports and giving statements to investigators, as will the other officers and the apprehended suspect, and THEY will have a far better idea what happened and why. Did your training teach you to judge a situation without evidence? or did it teach you to assess the situation clearly and act as appropriate? you are not assessing this one clearly. You are convicting without proper evidence.

and that is simply a statement that does not place blame. it does not tell you why it happened, it simply tells you the result of what happened. It says they recovered guns, but the kid was not armed when he was shot... It does NOT tell you if the officer had reason to think otherwise. It purposely is vague on any motive details so that the investigators can do the job. This is a press statement, not an incident report.

Seriously, the officer is likely at full fault here, but we cant make that assessment with what little WE know.

A rookie officer as it was, probably freaked out and vastly over reacted... In which case he is screwed.... There may have been what seemed like valid cause to fire at the time, but it is more likely a royal screw up from a rookie that was scared... Time will tell

Murder is a legal term. Killed or slain would be more appropriate until they decide if this was legally murder...

Again, you were not there. You did not see the events in person. You did not see or hear what happened before that cell phone recording. You were not in the shoes of that officer.

He could be unarmed, and that can be a known fact AFTER this happened... but did the officer know that at the time? YOU DON'T KNOW. If you claim to be a former LEO, then this is something you should very much be used to... people with no idea wtf they are talking about trying to pass verdict with limited knowledge and few facts that had not even been in that situation and have a vastly different perspective of events as a result.

You may be right, but you sure as hell are not proven right. You are wrong on this as a result of lack of knowledge and perspective. Sure, the rookie probably did royally screw up, but its not your place to make that judgement and you don't have enough facts to do so anyway. Leave it to the investigators and courts.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Does a cable have to be quick charge certified?"

Sometimes you get a dud... just like any other electronics... more rare with the big brands, but it happens... similar story with HDMI cables for instance... some cant handle the data requirements they are advertised for, but its often just a defect in manufacturing.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Does a cable have to be quick charge certified?"

  • 1 point

Ya, thats fine. Even though some phones can support even higher rates, the max amount would be determined by the charger anyway... so as long as the charger is under what the cable is rated for, then its all good... otherwise it might just be a bit slower charge.... no big deal usually

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Should you run from cops during a traffic stop?"

If you were not there and did not see all the facts, then you don't know and your opinion is wrong simply because it lacks understanding of the events. Armchair policing is a bad idea. You should know that if you had been a LEO as well. Relax and wait for the details to fully emerge.

I'll just say this... None of you were there. Not all the facts are out. Your opinions are all worthless until those facts are out and this speculation is pointless. There is no point in arguing without information.

I'm not effected either, but as an outsider who has known many aussies over the years, I can say that you guys have always been screwed over by horrible economic practices... Comment reply on Forum Topic "Does a cable have to be quick charge certified?"

The cable doesn't need to be certified as long as it's not cheap junk... If they say it's rated for 3A, then that's what you can expect to use with it though... 3A is quick charging, though some do go higher... Most are 3A or below with normal chargers being under 2A

Look at the output of the charger... If it's 3A or under, your good to go

Marines have the lowest bonuses of all the forces.... They do that on purpose because they want people that want to be marines... That said, there are other branches. Find a career path in one. If you don't want to be infantry, than pick a job that suits you better and go for that.

Let's just say, I went homeless at 17... It was rough times, but so damn liberating... That said, I won't say go homeless, but I will say to look into other options. Depending on your age and social life, you can move out, move in with a freinds family, join the military, go to jobcor, join a aid group that travels (or one of those outreach ministries if your into the religious stuff), look for local groups that help young people in bad home situations to make it on their own,etc...

Theres many options, but getting out is really one of the best things to do.

Most overused engine series ever... It kills the heart of the beast and changes the whole character... At least it's not as bad as swapping it into an rx7 though... Would be much better to keep a straight 6 really... Even if you went rb series or even something nuts like a diesel.

Cool you have a 260 though... Dont see those too often. It's the ugly duck, so nobody bothers with them it seems... They either go 240 or 280 lol

nah. the Z on its own is just too nice to do that to... Id go with some z specific mods if anything... like the typical fender work and a small whale tail for instance...

The current car, a 96 accord, only has a few hundred bucks into it... Full intake and exhaust with a few minor upgrades to the steering system, hid headlights, and aftermarket stereo headset... Not much really... It makes alot more torque than stock, but the hp is barely more than it had at factory 20+ years ago lol. The fun thing about Hondas is that upgrades are cheaper than repairs, so a cat back cost me less than a stock muffler, and the header and intake are not too expensive either :P

86 Supra - love the looks of them

unmolested 90-91 RX-7 turbo

Any year RX-7 FD turbo

R-34 GTR

De Tomaso Pantera, especially a gt5 (so few know the awesomeness of this car)

I need another 93 B13 Nissan Sentra SE-R... in better condition that i can dump money into... That thing was amazing for a fwd car

240z with a turbo L28 swap

Lamborghini Countach LP5000QV or Anniversary edition in piano black with dark gold wheels and trim... (come on, every 80s kid wants one)

intake and exhaust are the 2 to start with, but that wont use all that budget, so also upgrade/rebuild the turbo and related components. If the engine is out, its a great time to see about swapping the clutch and checking over the engine real good for seal condition and such as well.

Any left over cash id be putting into suspension/stearing since thats the real fun part of these cars

No lol, it has some serious flirting with the idea of going too far with his step sister, but it doesn't go graphic... Just highly suggestive... Its actually an awesome show, but there's some real well thought out sister complex stuff in there that they tried to make in a complicated but thought provoking kinda way... This isn't like the pervy nosebleed stuff at all... Definitely not hentai, but definitely adult themed in its maturity level...

When I read the description on myanimelist I thought it was gonna be a pervy comedy filled thing... Typical sister complex rom com, but nope... More of a family and societal drama with some comedy here and there

They not only are very well done, and look like they are realistic mostly instead of wild and flashy, but they adhere to the story very well. The acting is great for these kinds of films too... Gotta watch all 3 though as it's a 3 part thing, not 3 separate stories.
