hmm... right, I guess he would need a dx12 gpu
although arma 3 is notorious for running laggy in general
this will run arma 3 good
DX12 should even the playing field a bit from what I hear (pre-ryzen)
What cpu cooler and monitor are you considering? Looks good so far.
Clean build! What does the down fan do? edit: I think you're using that for additional intake because the front is full of radiator.
save for a wqhd 144hz monitor is what you really need with your hardware spec
yeah keep the mb, or do like a z270/7600k
No 1060 would not be a step up, at 1070 would.
Getting that cpu to 4.8.... what were the temps like? Also you need an expensive water cooler. You may have got a good chip as well. Do you have any score like 3d mark cpu? Those scores look pretty good in comparison to the intel, but good upgrade.
Nicely done. Are you planning to keep the K at stock clock? I think a lot of people choose dual radiator cooling on this cpu for overclocking (from what I recall). Definately that is a beast.
Looked through all the photos; +1 on adding a backplate
Probably is, may have been a team green fan...
that sounded weird to me too, bulldozer is 32nm
that cpu should do you well then
6500 and 6600 are both popular, I believe 6600 is o/c-able.
Can't really comment on specific parts too much, but you "might" be better off with a 1060. Rest looks ok.
Not implying that there is a need to; that plan is certainly fine. It was more geared towards optimization.
nothing wrong w/ headroom. g/l getting everything set up.
Pretty good spec there. Did you go overboard on the psu? Results should be great as you said.
I'm guessing that was the original cpu, then upgraded the gfx
Given the 1080p requirement, it would seem that your system should do ok; even maybe downgrade to a 1060. Certainly a better intel cpu would be advantageous. I can say the fx-6300 overclocks pretty well, you might want to try swapping to that and experiment.
Greetings, looks like a nice build to me "crap pc". 1 question, you're monitors seem to be 1080p, have you been able to do 1440p and if so what fps are you getting? If you're gaming on one monitor, then the 1070 is probably overkill (the future upgrade plan looks viable).
Nicely done. I would encourage an ssd as the next upgrade. : )
Get the evga 600b if you plan to O/C
My guess would be 50W more, just needs a bit more headroom. With the new generation of gpu's coming out, power needs should be less which would probably work with this psu.
For stock yes, for overclock no.
how about locked i5 6500, cheap mobo, and keep rx480. either way I would keep the 480 in this build. or wait for "zen" as a lot of people seem to be doing.
I see it now. +1
Killer build totally clever +1
that's weird, seagate used to be considered one of the best...
the xbox will still be an xbox... I dont have one but our pc's can do so much more right
Looks like his motherboard lays flat on the case horizontally
Fantastic build! Maybe get a 240 ssd?
yeah but he says he doesn't primarily game...
I couldn't get mine past 4.5 without a big bump in voltage. Sitting 4.3 @ 1.32 is pretty decent.
normal would have been a 960 ;)
970 was before the 480 (obviously), but I think they both have about the same power draw. Which is why I say nvidia seems to be the tech leader, but amd is the value choice.
Especially with only the 6-pin, don't know what amd was thinking on that one and then pushing their overclocking.
Nice. Microcenter isn't even advertising it and Newegg is sold out.
Cool build. Did you have to pay a premium to get an advance card?
Nice! Which gpu are you targeting? Any issues with heat exhausting inwards?
I think the reference cooler is going to be frowned upon as soon as the aftermarket coolers are released. 80C isn't horrible, but its not great either.
This thing was so overhyped it was insane. It's still a good card though.
It will not run arma 3 on the highest settings. It should run it though.
You don't need one with this case, you can stuff the extra cables near the hard drive cage no one will ever know.
