Honestly, I think you would be happier with a stock 1070 it will fit much better with no pressure on window.

Check my build! Super similar and I want to add water cooling like you did.

Clearance is OK, but I would think a better choice is the regular 1080 stock. It's smaller and blows the hot air out which helps because the case is small and not much airflow.

What is the water cooling when it goes into the mono? Is it really necessary?

They do that on most every evga and corsair power supply over 80 dollars I think.

I would go with the reference 1080, not only would you have WAY BETTER cooling. You also would have 0 struggle to get the card in and no tension on the side panel. Overall the case feels pretty cheap and extremely flimsy. Checkout my new build I did.

I tried to strix before the evga ftw and can say. The evga gets a better overclock and looks better in this modern case imo!

I thought since it was a gtx 1080 it meant it was for 1080p... Just joking! Yes I love getting 200 fps on Epic in overwatch. I will be getting the new 240hz asus 1080p monitor at the end of this year unless I decide to leap for the 165hz 1440p.

"Yes it does fit! If it was a few mm bigger it would not have. The power connectors do push up against the panel however, but its not a big deal at all and looks perfectly fine when closed. Also to note I had a radiator installed in the front, and I had to unscrew that and turn it a bit in order to get the card to fit in length wise. After the card was in, the radiator can go back into place as it was before." The message he sent me! :)

That is EXACTLY what I did. I saw a guy on reddit saying he has one in his air 240 right now and it fits without touching sidepanel, he has the asus maximus gene mobo too. I messaged him and asked for pics. Will link if he sends them.
