Thanks! ASUS does not seem to advertise such a feature on their product web page, but I'm glad you could confirm it. :)
Nice system. Is the GPU semi-passive (i.e. it turns off on idle)? Thanks!
Is that a Dell E207WFP? I have one sitting on my desk, too.
That screen glare looks quite distracting!
Superb build. That's a really beefy video card cooler!
Superb case and build.
Very well executed build.
That's really too bad about the Artic Accelero S1 cooler. Is the GTX 750 semi-passive though? I might had gone with the GTX 950 for that feature!
Not gonna lie, I love the white/silver combo on those Dell cases.
In with the new, out with the old. Love the retro case.
It's pretty quiet if you set it at a low RPM. I have mine configured with ASUS FanXpert 3 to run the fan in extreme quiet mode. Typically it spins at 600RPM at idle and about 1200RPM on load when playing League of Legends. My ambient temperature is low (basement) so your experience might vary.
Excellent build and write-up. Thanks for the comment on the fan control on that MSI board. It's pretty unfortunate how MSI implemented it.
What speakers are you using? Nice build.
Nice build. Good job.
Awesome build. How well does the Silent Base 800 do to keep down the noise? That top cover looks restrictive, but does it work well?
Nice build. Tight fit with the GPU, indeed!
You can grab a 3-pin fan Y adapter (splitter) to plug two fans onto the same motherboard fan header.
Yeah, but asides from the mounting issue the cooler is a solid choice. It's just really disappointing that Arctic Cooling (a CPU cooler veteran) went with such a bad design, especially when you consider that they did it the right way with their old famous Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro.
Good build, but bad choice on the CPU cooler (can't be rotated on AMD systems).
You won't be able to. The cooler can only be installed in that direction on AMD systems. It's a limitation of the retention bracket that cannot be rotated.
Sweet build! How do you find the Corsair RM550W? Does the fan run at all when you're using Windows, browsing or Youtubing?
Beautiful update. Much snappier too. Thank you!
Thanks for the tip. I've been reading that AMD has the best bang for the buck. I currently want an Nvidia card because it's easier to set VSync for older games. With AMD, I have to use RadeonPro (forced VSync in Catalyst doesn't work with some games) and I wouldn't mind just skipping that and using Nvidia Control Panel.
Thanks for posting!
Heheh, yeah, the case could use an upgrade. I'm torn between the Antec P100, Fractal Design Define R4 and the Anidees AI6BS. What do you think?
And, yeah, I kind of regret not going for the K processor. Then again, I was already $130 over budget so I didn't want to push it any further. I was originally aiming for ~$500 with a H97 board and a Core i3-4160 or an AMD A8-7600 and A88 board! :3
Very nice build. Thanks for posting!
