I built my computer in a Prodigy M as well so I know the pain you suffered making it look that good. You got the case with the window, it looks sweet. +1
Very nice build. Didn't even notice the nightstand until you mentioned it! Love that top shelf of the desk.
Nice build! +1
Wait a sec, NO FIDO NO, shoo!!!
Sorry couldn't resist.
That mATX board looks small in that case. Lovely cable management, tho. +1
Wow! When I actually see a rainbow pooping unicorn I have to give it a +1
The guy who's never posted a build is out heckling PSUs again....
Just needs an LED fan up front to really make it pop, but still +1
Where are your 3rd and 4th builds?
Make sure you verify the pin outs are correct as well. I've been looking at moddiy for sleeved cables and they seem to think that the Corsair AX760/860 (uses a 18+10 motherboard cable) and the AX760i/860i (24 pin) both use 24 pin.
Nice write up.
It seems to me that every third build on this site has a CX in it. They have already built the computer so there really isn't much point in recommending another PSU to them. Especially when it's coming from someone who hasn't even posted a build.
The parts help forum would definitely be a better spot to recommend a PSU switch. If people don't post in that forum before buying, making and posting their build they should be left to their fate, which probably will be completely normal.
An hour spent googling PSU reviews really benefits a system but most people's research appears to be "hey it's a Corsair and it's the cheapest" and they click the buy button.
I'm not the builder here.
Every other build on this site has CX in it.
Nice build! Did you make banana bread after?
Nice build. Quite similar to mine.
I managed to get $50 off my monitor on Black Friday from them. I played hatdball, threatening to return it and buy at the lower price from bestbuy, despite their policy.
Do not be afraid to play the **** card with any vendor. It works.
Wow that is a glossy case! You have a nice red couch. :D
Very nice build and an awesome writeup. :D
I'll take a pepperoni and bacon with the stuffed crust please. ;)
I'll admit it, I drooled a little bit looking at it.
I love Memory Express! They pricematch and have excellent customer service, for that they get to enjoy almost all of my computer dollars.
He's got mATX, not mITX. Another card should fit under his first card in the case.
This PSU will probably power his next computer.
Will you be traveling with this often? Will it always be carry on?
I ask because your CPU cooler can exert a lot of force on your CPU and motherboard and the newer skylake processors are not built as durably as the last generation of CPUs. You can solve this problem by taking the cooler out when traveling or use an all in one liquid cooler.
I really like that desk, I think I am going to pick one of those up tomorrow.
Doesn't it snow in Minnesota? Borrow a shovel and get to work on that GPU! :D
Also, more pics please.
If this build is plain and simple then my build is rusty and tarnished!
I like the name ;)
THE YELLOW FAN RINGS THEY LOOK NICE
Raidmax PSUs are pretty much in the "replace immediately" category. source
It looks like you moved the power button and 2 USB ports to the 5.25" bay. It looks awesome. How?
Love the grey and orange color scheme! +1
Saw pic 4... O.O
"Is he gonna cut that cat with that knife and get it in that case too?"
At this price range you may want to consider looking for cheap all in ones used on Craigslist/Kijiji or similar site. You may be able to get a decently passable system for <$100 and toss in a $100 video card and maybe an SSD and you may have a decent rig on the cheap.
You can consider: ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/apevia-case-xqpack3gn
has a few different color combos.
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm going to be stuffing a big cpu cooler like yours into a Prodigy M case myself and I am glad to see you made it fit!
Those are sweet reviews. Thanks!
I felt the same way about the case I am building my new computer in, the BitFenix Prodigy M. Unfortunately I couldn't get orange but I got Red for a good deal. A shame the case will be the last component to hit my mailbox.
I am using a 390X, Is it really so loud?
Very nice build, +1.
Overclockable motherboard with a locked CPU tho.
Nice build and a very nice write-up.
I hope the mobo isn't that tacky, lol mine is in the mail.
Those RGB lights are wicked.
What case were you considering before choosing this one?
I hope so, I'm married now ty.
Thank you, my googlefu is confirming this.
I bought this motherboard and I am just curious if anyone how many fan headers it has?
Nice build, I am making a similar build; same motherboard and a red case.
I am surprised at how well the semi-modular PSU actually looks in this case. I went fully modular so I am worried about how my cables will end up looking.
Looking at the PCIe slots on that motherboard it doesn't look like it would support 2 graphics cards in x8/x8 mode.
Not an experienced builder (I just posted my build thread) but I selected my case and motherboard via online research and watching a few videos.
What size case do you think you want?
Looking at your list any size motherboard will work, you can go mini-ITX up to a full size ATX.
Will you be adding a second video card in the future? That would rule out the mini-ITX mother board.
