only game I have an issue with is battlefront 2 stuttering which I think its more of a driver thing, on my 300+ game list I haven't ran into anything else yet that it doesn't handle 60+ fps on the highest settings without any issue

I figured at the time the 1500x was just enough for me based on performance reviews, I could always drop in a ryzen 7 later on when they get cheaper just for giggles, but the 4c/8t works great as it is.

Thanks, yah I will probably end up getting a single 8tb for my media down the road just for simplicity's sake.

so much wasted space in that case i wouldve suggested the corsair spec m2 over the 200r, need to work on your cable management, try runnining your cpu 4pin up on the top from the back of the mobo so its not blocking airflow to your cpu cooler

reason being, your grandpa is never going to use over 4 gigs of ram, so you could have saved a couple bucks there, and depending how much storage he actually needs i think the benefit of speed for having an ssd is definitely worth the extra bucks, not only does your computer start up faster it opens programs faster and to someone like your grandfather i think he wouldve been impressed with that

i liked the aesthetics of the corsair fan, thought it might be better with static pressure, i was wrong, its 2-3 degrees hotter than the stock fan, most likely because it doesnt seal around the radiator so i wish i could take it back

you aught to put your hdd in one of your 5.25 bays and delete the hdd cage, it helps with airflow once you get a second intake fan

couldve done better with the part selection, value wise, i made the same mistake too when i built my first pc of getting the bare minimum mobo only to realise i was lacking in current tech and upgrading a mobo is the hardest thing to swap out. id suggest def getting atleast a 7200rpm hdd, possibly a 87 series mobo and maybe a better case for cable management, the corsair spec series are great budget cases, i wouldnt get anything less than those unless you just dont give a @#$%
