I love the build, and interesting mod you did. I'm a huge fan of the 250D (have it myself) but wanted to know why you chose to use it as an htpc? There are a few other itx cases that are built to hold multiple HDDS (specifically the wonderful node 304) where you won't have to sacrifice cooling/ventilation/noise, etc.
I'm just curious, maybe you just fell in love with this case at first sight lol.
It's an HTPC though, not a gaming powerhouse. But who knows maybe down the line he'll upgrade and make it just that.
So glad people are catching on to this case. 10/10 OP
My only question, is the noize noticeable? Could you rate it on a scale from 1-10.
Yea I used to have this case, definitely not enough cable management holes. Great build!
It's the worst SSD on the market. Just google more information about it.
dat desk doe. hahahaha
Fit my 200m fan + optical drive bay by mounting the h100i in the opposite orientation. Did you try that?
Sweet build man. Sorry unrelated but about that job. What do you do? Is it difficult? I'm in CS with focus on networking and I'm nervous about the job hunt in a few years.
Details? How does this work? Is the box holding the drives connected to the motherboard?
ah, makes tons of sense. Thanks for the update!
Why did you switch from itx to mATX?
Definitely in the top 5 when it comes to cablemangement in the 250D. Stunning job.
yea dude. I was planning a similar build with the same motherboard an case. I also just recently learned about this AsRock board although I was planning the build for months. Seems like the most powerful AM3+ mAtx mobos.
lol pretty dope, extremely unique.
Nice man. Ik TomsHardware featured this case one of their recent builds. Would love to see more pictures.
thanks so much man.
I doubt you can get it. You have to work for a retail at a tech company. Please google the "Intel Retail Edge" program. You have to participate in the program to be eligible to purchase an i7 at this price.
Jesus that OC is insane! Yea I never got around to OCing. Thanks for the comment man.
Wrong site bro, I think you meant to post here ---> https://www.reddit.com/r/battlestations/
Thanks for the closeup pictures of the tubing and the wifi chip. A few months later has it become a problem of any kind? Also hope you're enjoying your i7, mine should be arriving in a month or so and I will have an almost identical build.
I was going to do a similar build. But the motherboards made me change my mind. I'm sure that bothered you as well with the AM3+ platform. I was actually going to go with that same motherboard as it seems to be the most recommended for OCing a mMATX AM3+ cpu.
You did a great job though, bravo.
Edit, no way your cpu temperatures are right man. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Wish you had pics on the inside. Do you have any comments on the overall noise of the build? I notice it's right beside your monitor so it has to be somewhat audible.
Other people told me that if you want to add a 200mm fan you have to remove the 5.25' bay. But obviously that wasn't the case for you.
I'd like to add a DVD drive in that bay and a 200m fan instead of a 140mm seems sufficient for pulling in air. Did you have any problems with the installation?
The Spaghetti monster, he lives!
Very impressive man, Ik what it's like to save up for your dream computer. It's awesome.
you know it does actually.
So I have a same size GPU, but it's an xfz 290. Think I'll be able to easily put the gpu in there the same way as you?
Also could you rate your builds silence on a scale of 1-10? you did a great job man, very clean.
So keeping the ODD cage is a bad idea? I'm going for a similar setup with the H100i and I wanted to keep the cage to insert my fan controller into. Will it be a dangerously tight fit?
Do you have any notes on the noise? I'm planning to have a similar build with case basically on my desk right beside my monitor.
Really really wish you had some better pictures friend.
I really want a compact sized build like this, it's so awesome. You're positive you're happy with the airflow? and honestly, what was it like building in such a small case?
Also AM3+ boards have no mitx motherboards. I have an 8320 and regret it because I can't go small for factor as well.
You did a great job OP, I love it.
looks like it comes with the case.
Did you buy a used 280 since you got it for $100?
This board is actually the most highly recommended mATX AM3+ board for overclocking, as all other mATX AM3+ boards are absolute garbage for those who are actually apart of the 8320 + 8350 community.
"QQ 9370. QQ Graphics in wrong slot. QQ amd at this price point"
You did a great job tho bro, this build be on fleek. and yea if I say a 9370 for that low I'd definitely hop on it.
This case looks really simple and it fits an ATX board. How loud is it? I currently have a ATX build and I want something smaller. Not many options. Would you recommend this case?
Well done. Really nice. Great that budget builds like this are getting the spotlight for once.
I have the same case. Yea I'm also already sick of the color.
hey man care to share your wallpaper?
Yea love this case. Great to see more people using it. Would you say those corsair fans are worth the money as far as noise goes?
What do you think of Ethan Carter? Its beautiful but way too boring for me.
So clean bro.
Great job man. You have any pictures? In the next month I'll be modding this case to fit my full ATX build.
