Sorry dude I just got this.
The fans were fine but dont really do much for the aesthetics so I’m changing them. Hope this helps
Congrats on the feature man!
Love the effort you put into getting great photos. +1
I have to ask this though, did you manage to stick to a budget or did you go overboard?
Sorry for the late reply man...
Honestly I have not regretted this m.2 drive.
It's honestly made the machine that much greater. Using it for the os only allows the machine to go from the bios screen pretty much straight to the desktop with very little delay in between.
I would recommend to anyone to try these drives if possible. They are so noticeably fast that I feel, the price is justified.
Again sorry for the late reply. Happy tweaking,
I have yet to experience any problems with the SLI setup YET being the operative word haha. Both cards seem to play nicely together :) Hope this helps
Ahh Damn it! xD
Under the monitor is a 7.1 surround sound system and to the right of the pc is a TV. I use it to watch films with the Mrs. :)
Love seeing people build pc/server hybrids! Awesome build mate. Congrats on the Featured ;) +1
+1 for the durable as hell motherboard!
I presumed it was sarcasm xD
He wanted to be able to stream to his nvidia shield, thus this type of gpu was necessary. As for the case it needed to be small enough to fit in his car boot alongside suitcases as he works away a lot. He also wanted to keep the costs for non-performance parts to a minimum so he and the retailer chose the neos :)
If you're only going to be using this for streaming I would personally stick with the HDD as boot and loading times won't need to be uber fast and spend the money you were going to spend on the 850 EVO on a more reputable water cooler such as a Corsair h55 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-cpu-cooler-h55 and spend a little more on the graphics card. The jump between the 700 series and the 900 series is noticeable in performance and it is significantly improved in power efficiency. If you're going to be running two screens at 1080p I would consider an altered skew of GPU similar to this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp42957kr
Good luck with build, I hope this helps.
Looks like a solid build mate.
Only thing I would put a bit more thought into would be investing in an aftermarket cooler. You might find streaming and gaming might be too much for the stock cooler to handle. If you're planning to overclock a corsair h55 might be a good starting point?
I'll be waiting for the photos and build log!
Good luck with the build.
When it comes to gaming an i7 isn't really that advantageous currently although I believe game developers are steering towards utilising more cores in the future. Currently though for what you need the i5 will be fantastic money for performance.
One question about the cooler. If you're not doing any over clocking yet but plan to overclock in the future it is sensible to me that you have chosen the unlocked skew of processor. However you could save a lot of money going for an air cooler or even a smaller 120/140 rad water cooler?
Also this might be worth mention the 4690k shouldn't output much heat unless you're planning on a serious overclock with a lot of CPU load.
When you build this PC please post in the Completed Build section! Looking forward to seeing the benchmarks too :)
Depending on whether you want to dome some over-clocking or not. My personal choices would be between;
CPU: i7 4790k ($349.87)/ i5 4690k ($259.86)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 OC FORMULA ($184.99)
No Over clock ;
CPU: i7 6700 ($319.99) i5 6600 ($204.99)
Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M7 (189.99)
Hope this helps :D
* All prices were correct at the time of posting including mail in rebates.
Only thing I would recommend reconsidering is the B85 chipset motherboard. For the sake of future upgrade ability and utilising all of the 4590's potential. I know this means a little more cost but it may save you a lot of head ache in the future. Boards similar to this one might be worth considering: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97anniversary
Any way good luck with build. I'll be waiting for the completed builds post :)
I'll have a look, Thanks :)
Thanks man! :)
Thank you for pointing this out! This is why I shared it. Great advice mate thank you!! :)
I'll keep this in consideration, Thanks man! :)
Thanks Warlord1500, I am planning to over clock my CPU which is mainly why I chose the water cooler. Im not planning on going higher than 1080p as I am a student and cant afford to get into the 4k or even the 5k realm. (Because I am a sucker for good graphics xD).
I chose to get 8gbs of ram for now and eventually upgrade to 16gbs in the future as I'm certain that eventually 8gbs wont be enough memory :').
Thank you especially for the last hint, I will keep it in mind :)
Thank you for commenting. I had thought of getting two sticks of 8gb. But I believe I read or watched someone say that quad channel ram is slightly faster? I'm not entirely sure on that but I will definitely be looking into this!
I will also be looking into the new PSU's.
I was torn between the 390 and the 970 but I found a great deal on the 970 so went with that! :D
+1 for the budget too. Thanks for sharing :)
