Comment reply on Forum Topic "How to move/clone Windows 10/apps from old HDD to new SSD in old machine"

Thanks for the info. That makes sense. And I could easily delete all of the data and whittle it down to just the OS and apps.

The one thing is that I would not be installing Windows 10 onto the SSD, I would be cloning Windows 10 from the HDD to the SSD.

I would say 120GB is too small as a boot drive. I think Windows is about 25GB but I hear newer updates will take up more space. Then it depends on what software you are installing on it. Plus remember, you need to leave 30% of the drive empty in order to maintain its high speeds.

I would go with at least a 250GB boot drive.

OK, just so I'm clear, the Radeon RX is going to run really hot and lacks in AI abilities compared to the GeForce RTX, right?

That's pretty sweet! Would you mind trying an Intel build? I just want to see how they differ. Thanks.

I'm also wondering if you put that 650 W PSU in because I might do future upgrades or because this rig would require that much power.

Thanks a lot! Would it be possible for you to do an Intel based rig?
