Untraumatized's Completed Build: U.F.O. - Untraumatized's First Objective

Lellulillu 2 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

Here's a dark picture, does it help? All of the fans I've seen so far push air out from the side that has the "struts" keeping the frame solid. The intake side is the cleaner side.

Looks good :) and well, I'm not an expert, but I would have the rear fan as an exhaust. Firstly, it would probably look better to have the intake side facing into the case. Second, in your current configuration I think the rear intake takes air in only to be sucked out by the top fans. I don't know, it may even disturb the airflow out from the top. Having three exhausts with only a dual fan rad intake may cause negative pressure in the case though, introducing more dust, but that's a tradeoff I would go with :) Just my couple cents, take what you want from it

What Jaeger said. Also, PSUs usually operate at highest efficiency when around or little over 50% load.

Thanks! Well, I'm waiting to be able to start my training. Just ran into a little medical setback. Buying this PC was my coping method for not being allowed to fly yet :P

I currently have the chip at 4.8 ghz with 1.2V. With that setup the extreme stress test in AIDA64 gives me fluctuating temps between 70-85C, so I'm not too keen on going further. I did quickly try 5.0 ghz with 1.35V and that was stable but the max temp was 96C. I didn't even bother trying 5.0 with a lower voltage. Might be worth fiddling with it a little more. I'm also tempted to delid it, but so far I've been too scared to do it. I can't afford a new CPU if I screw it up :D

If you're still thinking, here's what my system looks currently with 2 TT Riing 14 Pluses installed as top exhausts: VR Simulator Machine In the end, it doesn't look too bad. Still, I think the Riings are at their best when installed as front intakes with a see-through front panel.

Great looking PC, at first glance at least seems like excellent value!

Nope, it's the same RAM as mine O.o

How come the RAM cost that much? I just bought my 2x8 trident RGB set for ~140€. By that logic 4x8 should be max 300$.

The EVGA AIO looks great, RGB but still classy. I was torn between that and the Kraken X62, but went with the Kraken because in Finland they were the same price... I'm wondering if I chose wrong. I'm getting it in mail probably tomorrow.

Sure did, and yes, the LEDs do shine through, but it's just not as spectacular as I'd hoped :') maybe I'm too hard on them :P

The LED rings on the 140 fans just barely touch each side of the opening, but none of it gets covered for me (when looking directly from above). Please post pictures as soon as you have the 120s installed :) I will try and get my build here soon as well.

I would be too :) I would imagine the 1800X has a little more OC headroom if you need it

That is what I did today xD I installed three TT 14 Riing Pluses. One as front intake, two on top as exhausts. But I do have to say, they didn't look as good as I had hoped. To fulfill the potential of these amazing looking fans they would 1. need to be installed so that the intake side is clearly visible and 2. they're best used in a build that benefits from the full range of the RGB colors. There's nothing wrong with the fans, it's just that the case and my build might not do them justice. I still have a little bit of fine tuning to do with the software though, so we'll see if it works out better.

Dat camerawork tho ;)

Black and red will always be one of the best combinations, great stuff!

I had that mobo in my previous build and I have to say I miss it. It looks good with the monochromatic design plus the pretty RGB accent light.

Vertically mounted GPUs are sure to become a trend in the near future, if they aren't already. I'm working on modding my Phanteks Eclipse P400S TGE to allow one too. Looks great!

Also, the infinity mirror is incredible in the case, but just wondering, how do you make it breathe with the sealed front panel? Where does the radiator get its air from?

From the description: "Will be getting two more corsair vengeance led memory soon". To the owner: no real purpose in getting any more than 16 gig for this system, unless you value the looks of four sticks enough for it to be worth the price. There's no performance to be gained there with this system and your usage.

Lellulillu 2 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

Wow :0 well, I'm currently running a non-delidded 7700k at stock clocks with a CM Hyper 212X, and I get around 83C in stress tests O.o The 212 is showing its value I guess? I'm going for watercooling though, mainly for looks. The 212 is a placeholder.

The OC is still only 4.7 + the undervolt to less than 1.2V. Honestly I would have expected more out of an NH-D14, though 69C is of course nothing to be worried about
