Just a heads up, if you plan on overclocking that 6300, you will need a different motherboard. The M5A78L-M/USB3 is a great board, but not for overclocking. I tried with mine but it kept throttling because it couldn't handle temp increases.
For some reason my graphics drivers keep crashing when I try to run Heaven, on Fire Strike I scored pretty low, around 5600 I think. Running Sky Diver I get a more respectable score, 15879 I believe it was.
Great build! I wish I had gotten into PC building when I was your age. Can't go wrong with the 6300, I've been running mine for almost 3 years now, on my 3rd rig with the same chip, it's the only thing I haven't upgraded to be honest. Overclocking capabilities are fantastic, had mine up to 4.5 GHz but brought it back down to 4.0 because the temps were getting a little high, water cooling would help with that though.
Indeed, I do plan on upgrading the CPU at some point. Not really sure which one I am going to go with yet. With all of my old parts I am planning on building a rig for my son, when I get the green light on doing that, I will most likely upgrade to a better CPU for myself, then just recycle the 6300 in the rig for my son.
I wanted to do the cables myself, but i barely had time to get this done. Getting the cables custom made also allowed for easier cable management. I was able to get the cables at the exact length i needed. No excess cable to hide. As for benchmarks, i haven't tested it yet. I will get back to you with some Firestrike and Heaven results.
Head over to ensourced.net and see if they can make something up for you. Just bought a set of custom cables for my rig, they are fantastic quality and look great.
