You don't even need to build a new system for a server. An old Dell Optiplex with a nice i5 and 8GB of RAM will work great for a small vanilla Minecraft server. That's what I ran for a while.

Congrats! Class of 2020 as well.

A new GPU would be a great upgrade. Personally, I run a 5700 XT and a 1080p 144hz monitor and it works great. I'd recommend going with that. The 5700XT would be a better performer than a 2060. It's pretty darn close to 2070S territory for about $100 cheaper.

your mental health matters more than your grades

THIS

Do NOT let anyone (especially your parents!) tell you any different! That aside, here's some advice. I think a good thing to do with managing teachers is to make friends in higher classes. Find out what teachers are more laid back, who are complete hardasses and who is just out of their element. Switch classes if necessary.

Don't date. Just don't. It's not worth it in high school, take that from a Senior who is 2 weeks from graduation. In high school, everyone is just pumped full of hormones and wants to mess around more than actually build a half-decent relationship. Not true 100% of the time, but it's best to just avoid it all together.

Perhaps. I paid $200 for the 1920X. I chose it for it's quad channel support. I host servers, stream, edit/render, and game all at the same time off this machine. It's not just a gaming build. $200 for 12 cores, 24 threads with quad channel is a steal for those applications. Surprisingly, the CPU doesn't bottleneck hardly at all. I'm still able to get over 144 FPS at 1080p on every game I own.

Plus it's fun to watch people's eyebrows raise when I say I have a Threadripper in my PC.

"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat and then he beat the crap out of every single one! And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo'!"

I seem to remember this crackpot German guy who tried to blame an entire demographic of people for Germany's economic issues.

That said, applying the same logic and placing the blame on China for a pandemic is equally silly.

Also, how exactly does one "sue" a country?

I'm doing okay. Been enjoying the time off from school and getting many things accomplished. Picked up Shadow of the Colossus for PS2 the other day before my town shut down, a game I've intended to play for a while now. Been livestreaming and playing MW and Minecraft as well. Today I vacuumed my house and ordered a cable for an Xbox 360 controller and a memory card (Remember when those were a thing?) for the PS2, as SOTC doesn't fare well with the old 128KB PS1 card, which happened to be the only card in the house.

Speaking of the PS1, it was a birthday gift 2 years ago from the man who was going to be my stepfather. It must have been kept in his garage or a hunting trailer or something, as the thing is horrendously dirty. It's been sitting in my closet since, maybe I'll get around to cleaning it up this weekend. Its the PS One Slim model, with a fold-up screen. Very collectible I hear!

Buy a bidet. Just installed one I got from Amazon for $25. It will make you sing like a canary on first try but it works great and is what you should use instead instead of toilet paper anyways.

As much as I love the campaign, the multiplayer was not built to play well with online, and Halo Multiplayer was mostly 4 people split-screening on an Xbox. This was back before Xbox Live existed. Online is just a clusterfuck of 3-Shot Pistols, grenades with the blast radius of an ICBM, limited weapon selections, and indestructible vehicles. Far more excited for Halo 2 and 3 to hit the Collection.

That would be so. The DNC hopefully learned from last time not to screw him out of the race. That’s a good way to lose the election.

I don’t care who ends up the democratic nominee as long as it’s not Bloomberg. I’ll stand out in the rain all day to vote against Trump. Bernie is definetely my preferred candidate but Warren and Biden aren’t terrible alternatives if it comes down to it.

That is a beautiful system except for one glaring issue;

The cables and tubes. The build would look much cleaner if you flipped the Radiator and had the AIO tubes run down from the top, and also if you pulled the cables tight behind the case to have less slack in the interior.

Probably not. I'd imagine a Ryzen 5 to be good for streaming, as that activity will stress your CPU most. If you use a program like Streamlabs and stream at 720p60 with a 3000 Bitrate (Max Twitch Supports) you shouldn't run into issues.

I can relate. I don't see multi-day literary analysis of the floating dagger in Shakespeare's Macbeth (what I'm currently doing) to be useful in my future professional endeavors. At the very least, it gives me an hour to sleep since graded classwork is few and far between. I've been thinking I want to major in Computer System Analysis, so most of my credibility in that field comes to dicking around on this website.
