Yep! I see no need to upgrade the CPU at the moment. I think I have reached a level of performance that should last me another year or so. I do have a ongoing X99 build in works so stay tuned for that one. ..There are some times that I do have moments where I want to build a current generation rig......But I must exercise restraint......... must ...........stay away from computer deal sites.

Hello, for my case, I had a 980ti already, and during black friday sale they were going for around $399 (EVGA) which is a pretty good deal for someone like me who didn't want to uninstall a perfectly good 980ti and wanted to maximize the current rig.

As for people with brand new pieced together builds, I wouldn't know why they wouldn't go with a 1080 from the start but chose to go with a 980ti instead. I personally would go for a 1080. Maybe it's because people are selling them for cheap now? They still offer really good performance at 1080p or 1440p. I say if price was close to black friday price, a 980ti is still a good card.

Also, thanks for commenting on my build, have a good day.

tl:dr:: possible because they can get the 980ti at a good price =)

Hello, this was a progressive build in which I had parts available. So hence the 3 ssds. Also reason for the 980 ti sli was because it was on sale and I had a 980ti available, just "maxing" out the capacity because I didn't see the need to upgrade to the new Kaby lake at the moment and purchasing new ram, cpu, and mobo . I hope that answers your quescions. Thanks for commenting =)
