ASUS Z97I PLUS went out of stock months ago so chances of getting a new one is quite rare. And who the heck would sell a SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB SSD (BRAND NEW) for $40 on eBay? It occasionally drops $70-80 on Newegg or Amazon and it sells like hot cakes. Others seem like it's at decent prices so I'll let that slip.
So many noctua fans though.
A CX430M should be able to run that build easily.
Can't believe this case can hold a push and pull setup, it's so compact.
You just made the account today and you have only one pic and there are some components in the photo that doesn't match the parts list. What do you have to say for yourself???
You do make some sense, some build updates come too fast and some come too slow.
That is such a cute MSI card there, xD.
We need moar interior pics!!
Corsair Carbide Spec offers some great chassis airflow while being under $50.
The alienware emoticon fascinated me.
The first wooden steam machine in the world.
Most of the components you have listed in your parts list doesn't even show up in your pics...
It looks very nice but I don't think a push and pull setup for a Hyper 212 EVO is required though. Could have spent the budget elsewhere, o.
Why wouldn't they? Retail boxes cost more than open boxed items or other non-original packaged services.
I think they are both OEM's but different packaging I guess just like how Windows 7 OEM copies use to come in either plastic covers or thin envelopes.
You'll have to wait a few days or a few weeks for them to restock again. They are selling like hotcakes lol.
The best alternative is to mount the CPU fan on the other side of the heatsink to pull air through the heatsink instead.
So many and many, high quality pics.
Nice budget rig but you can do a bit better with the cable work.
I might pick up the 840 PRO than a 840 EVO now.
I feel like I seen a build from this poster before but it got taken down cuz it was a really bad fake build.
Please delete this fake build, OP. You are humilating yourself.
Those LED's light up my day, I feel kinda warm inside.
Furmark, 3D Firestrike, Unigine Heaven and Valley Benchmark.
I think you should check out eBay, plenty of people selling off their cards to get the new Maxwell GPU's.
I think you can include better pics by opening up the arcylic windowed side panel.
It looks so clean, love that this liquid cooling setup.
I love that new GTX 980!
I wonder why mods let this build pass, don't they inspect the parts list and such before they post it on the site.
The Strix has the same heightened cooler like the DirectCU II model, probably one of the tallest because of the protruding heatpipe on top...
You can invest in a Carbide Air 240 or a Obsidian 350D.
The only difference is the asthetics and feature wise. The performance should be near identical.
You should keep waiting, EVGA disappointed us with the cooler they slapped on the GTX 970 series and the ASUS Strix idea of not ramping up fans until past 65C seem pretty damn bad. The best buy in my opinion is the MSI Twin Frozr V Gaming that ramps up the fans at 50C with four heat pipes and the beast Gigabyte Windforce G1 Cooler with the massive 3x 90mm fans but it's hella long.
I still find it hard for a GTX 780 Ti to go below the price of a new GTX 970 who only beats it in a few benchmarks. Most credile sellers wouldn't be that desperate to sell that card for that low of a price.
I have a feeling that AMD will push as much performance into their new cards, completely neglecting efficiency since they are slapping those liquid cooled reference cards. It's a shame though....probably will see some 300W TDP+ models for the R9 390x lol.
Oh my orange.
This is a great budget build but I think you could have squeezed in a SSD boot drive and a better quality power supply.
I guess he wanted cheap alternatives for CPU cooling until he decided to upgrade a few components. I guess the new beefier cooler will aid the overclocking performance he needs.
How could a good quality build like this have so little upvotes???
lovin' the illuminated blue led's.
Uhh no, he does make a good point. Locked Non-K CPU's are given modest overclock headroom even though they have locked multipliers, Intel showed a chart where Non-K CPU's can have at least a 400MHz(4 bin) overclock through the BCLK.
It's no brainer that the R9 290 is a better buy over the R9 280x lol.
HX650 has better quality but RM650 is newer. Can't go wrong with either, just get the one that is cheaper.
If you want both performance and cable management, it has to be the Obsidian 350D but that isn't quite portable like the 250D though.
Mother of god.
A shame that your computer got stolen, was the culprit arrested yet?
