Ah, okay. By small you mean really small, right? Like the h200i and the evolv it's is the smallest you'd suggest? I just don't have any idea physically how much smaller those are compared to a 450d

I know this was a while ago, but I have a question about the power supply. How was the cable routing? I see your psu is 160mm in length, the max phantex recommends. My pay is 5mm longer. Do you think it's work?

I feel it. I have a 4690k, but with a 1070 and other updated parts. I'm thinking about bumping up to coffee lake, or waiting next year. Grabbing a x62 this black Friday so I can finally oc this chip since performance is dropping a bit

How are the temps after overclocking. I'm wanting the x62 and the new high c, but that'll require me to ditch 2 140mm fans I just bought.

oh no.... I can't get a Meshify C with my set up :( The max gpu length is 315mm with the front fans installed. My 1070 is 287mm, leaving 28mm. The x62 radiator is 30mm thick. I guess no Meshify C for me :(

Yeah, that's what I am planning on doing. When I upgrade to a new processor in the next year or 2, I will be giving my old 4690k, the motherboard, ram, and the case to my family back at home (I am in college). Then I could either give them the x62 and go custom loop with the new build. My plan with the GPU was to get another 1070 in SLI since the next series will definitely drop the price on the card.

I have been looking specifically at the Enthoo Pro M SE, Enthoo Evolv, Meshify C, and the Phanteks P400.

  • Meshify C: I like how compact the case is.

  • Enthoo evolv: The face is unique to me, but the airflow restrictions might be too high to keep my system somewhat silent and cool, but price knocks it down pretty far for me. (But maybe I will jump for it. It seems to be a loved case all around

  • Phanteks P400: Beautiful case. I forget what issues I had with it, but they were not too big.

  • Enthoo Pro M SE: I think I am leaning towards this case the most, just cause I have always liked the front face of it. But, quality wise, I have been seeing on forums that it isn't as nice as the Meshify C

So for me:

Tied for 1st: Meshify C and Enthoo Pro SE 3rd: Evolv 4th: Phanteks P400

Looks amazing! I will be doing a smallish update to my PC too. I have a 4690k (stock fan), but I have a 1tb SSD, 24 gigs of RAM, another SSD but 256gb, a 750-watt gold PSU, in a Corsair 450D. I plan on updating the case to something gorgeous (Meshify C, or the Phanteks P400, or something of the like). Then I plan on overclocking the CPU, so I will need to cool it. I am looking at doing the x62 for ease of install. Also, doing a custom loop might be pointless right now because my GTX 1070 Gigabyte Extreme gaming doesn't have any blocks out for it (I don't think), so it would be a CPU only loop anyways

This helps me a lot! I'll do top mounted push configuration, just so I have 2 more exhausts in my case.

As for the NZXT vs EVGA, I think I'm leaning towards the x62 for a cooler, but price of EVGA is nice. But then again, the $30 is TOO much more

I think I found the culprit. I was watching my CPU usage and realized that 40% to 50% was being used by the Norton extension on Chrome.

However, back to the coolers. You say EVGA, or do you lean more towards the Kraken?

"Budget" is not in your dictionary... I'm in college too. And 3 months isn't long. I just recently "finished my build" after about 2 to 3 years. 4690k, stock fan, 256 gb ssd, 1tb ssd (evo) added when on sale 2 years later, 24 gigs of ram (had 8, took 2 years for me to pull the trigger on more), 1070 gaming extreme (add 2 years later), and an EVGA g2 750 watt added when bought unopened but used for $60. All of the build was newish. I reused an extremely old gpu and psu and case. Just bought a topre realforglce rub keyboard. Now looking at the s36 to overclock

Yeah, I don't like the brown either. Have you checked out the industrial version from noctua?

Well, the 980ti sli would stomp just a single1080. The 1080 benchmarks are out, and it barely beats the 980 in sli (still amazing that a single card beats the 980s in sli for some games). The benefit is also higher min FPS due to a single card vs sli. If you are doing sli vs sli, go 1080. If you are debating on either going 980ti sli, or single 1080, 980ti sli should be fine, since it still is a beast of a card. Heck, once the 1080 drops, the 980ti price should go down a bit! So if you want to sli the beast you have, wait for price drops, or go for a used 980ti (of course if you don't mind a used one). Keep your eyes on the 1070 too, before doing anything. 1070 sli might be amazing.

It looks really good! And sweet, those are some really worth while temp differences! And yes, I personally love the Hue+ and want it in my computer. I just upgraded my psu to an unopened 750 watt g2. I would get the hue+, and more fans, however, I want a corsair scimitar, and a 1070/1080 first xD Thanks for remembering to update me

True, but he is also running 4k. And the r9 Fury may be a good budget 4k card, but if the 1070 holds to its fame when benchmarks comes out, it may be a better "budget" 4K card. I think everyone is waiting for Polaris stats to start saying "GO FOR AMD". It's all a waiting game with tech

The 1080 will be their new flagship card.... then theTitan (pascal) will be when it comes out. And of course people will say go with the 1070/1080 because they are the 2 most powerful cards known. Yes, AMD vega is soon, buthe the stats and everything have not been released yet, meaning some won't even think about that.
