Chose over any other power supply because I would like to upgrade to 2 cards SLI eventually and the platinum with fully modular is just a deal I couldn't pass up.
I am very pleased with this PSU. I upgraded from a semi-modular CX600M to this fully modular Platinum PSU. One thing that really stuck out was the cables that were supplied. The 8-pin CPU cable was split it 2 sets of 4 and made it very easy to slide through the top cable management whole even with my motherboard already installed. I also love that it has a 10 year warranty.
Oh yeah... I got mine for $99.99 on Nov. 30th, which makes it even better for the price. I could of got the 1000W version on black Friday for the same price, but missed out.
Had to RMA the original unit due to the ECO feature not working. I am still not going four stars because replacing the unit, since fully modular, took 45 seconds with no new cable management. I was 1 day passed the 30 day registration and EVGA gave me a complimentory RMA, no cost at all. EVGA handled this extremely well with no questions, even for a first time RMAer like myself.
Great power supply, even has an "ECO" mode, which runs with the fan off until it gets too hot. Fits in nicely with my goals of having a quiet PC and saving energy. This has to be the nicest power supply I have ever bought, even came in a fancy cloth bag… and with fancy velcro cable ties.
Silent with nice clean cables provided. Very pleased with this choice.
The 24 pin cable is fairly thick and I had a few issues getting it cleanly hidden between the rear of the motherboard tray and case back panel although this is no fault of the power supply and more of a H440 issue.
Plenty of power for this build at a great price. The P2 is built with SuperFlower as OEM, and the PSU performs very well in testing. I did a TON of research on this also, and ultimately decided this would fit my needs nicely. Gets high ratings for sound, power stability, and efficiency.
I have yet to hear the PSU kick on
Quiet with the eco mode turned on and its one of the most highly rated PSUs out there
This is a really nice PSU. Fully modular, 140mm fan, whisper quiet, platinum rating. The EVGA branding matches the video card.
So originally I went for the 750W P2 in the early stages of the build. I went so far as to place it in and hook everything up. But as the build progressed, I got worried about upgrade-ability and how it would handle an OC'd 6600k and (maybe) OC'd 980ti SLI. I ended up swapping to the 850W when I saw it on sale for a price that matched the price I'd pay to return the 750W. I chose platinum over gold because the price difference is not significant and the machine will be turned on more often than not. So the platinum will pay for itself over the course of a few years.
Nice supply, easy to install (besides bending cables around the case), and came with nice sleeved cables.
Plenty of power and not a bad price. Have the occasional power flicker at my house and haven't noticed any adverse affects to my computer; power supply seems to handle those just fine.
Great PSU, will have everything you need and then some.
