A cheap Z97 motherboard with a M.2 slot. Sufficient enough to overclock a 4690K to 4.4 GHz. Could've had a bigger VRM heatsink and a better audio solution for front panel jack detection - if you're using two devices - one on the front - let's say headphones - and one on the back - speakers - you'll only have audio on the headphones. ASUS Sabertooth 990FX had an option to stream both at the same time but of course t'was twice the price.

from completed build Scorpio Midrange Gamer

Nice looking board, I love the black and gold, although the IO is a little muddled. IO shield could have been a little easier to install but they are pretty notorious for being fiddly. Plenty of space for RAM, more than you would need for a budget build and the 1866Mhz is a nice speed to sit at. SATA III, USB 3.1, everything you would like from a board, at a modest price.

The only downside is that I would have liked at least 2-way SLI, but unfortunately there is only one 16x PCI slot.
