Got a lot of flack for high failure rates. Same with WD Caviar Blues so kinda scratching my head with that one. I'd be happy with either, but this was the first 1TB 7200RPM I saw, so I bought it. No regrets. Really fast and quiet. It did grind for a couple days after 2-3months usage, but that went away and performance never degraded.
Every computer I have ever had a hand in putting together has had a Seagate drive. They are the originators of the 7200RPM drive, and there always seems to be one “on sale” somewhere.
