My first ASRock build, and it will not be the last. I was limited on my options for this ITX build. I really wanted the 97 from Asus, but it was not available. So I thought I'd give ASRock a try.

This board is actually really impressive. Plenty of usb ports, build in wifi, decent aesthetic. It has one of the fastest post times of any motherboard I've worked on to date. Even with the RAID controller on. Very impressive. With the 850 Evo, this thing boots from completely off to login in less than 4 seconds! I'm not embellishing that number either. I was stunned. It was so fast in fact, that I had to look up the enter bios key online because the post screen was so fast I could not see which button to press. Most boots, I didn't see the screen at all! Needless to say this is a huge plus for my client who was experiencing 10+ minute boot times!

As with any ITX board, it is difficult to fit everything. I don't love the position of some of the headers. Or the way the Wifi card has to be installed in the middle of the board with wires to the I/O shield. Purely aesthetic though. Just makes cable management a little more of a challenge.

I'm giving this board a solid 4 stars. If they could put an extra fan header, move the wifi module to the I/O shield, and put the majority of the headers on the edge of the board, it would get 5 stars no problem.

At first I thought the motherboard was dead when the screen wouldn't post on the first boot. However it works fine, nice BIOS and layout. I'm taking off one star though as the I/O shield is junk and it hard to fit the motherboard correctly with it installed.

Nice motherboard, wish it had some M.2 ports but other than that the BIOS is a dream to use and no issues at all. Loads of cool features that make the PC boot in like 20 seconds and hot-plugable-internal drives!

Love the UEFI and it supports all the hardware it needs to. The Wifi card is kind of a pain to install.

Board is decent. The Wireless adapter that is included is pretty poor. It appears to be a bad copy of the older Intel 3160 with maximum AC connection speed at 433 mbps on a dual-band setup. If it matters, it could be swapped out for an Intel 7260. Mine is running on a wired network so it's isn't an issue but it is one reason this board is cheap compared to others. One point deducted for that, but can't really complain much given the price.

Been using this board since my 1st build 3ish years ago. I like this board so much that when it came time to build a PC for my sister I decided to use it in her build as well. The board has good IO and a good layout (for me at least) and has not crapped out on me yet. I also like the blue accents but that is just imo. The only reason I knock a star off is because installing the wifi module on this thing is so annoying.

Fast boot times

Great little board. Built in WiFi was awesome, since I'm not always near an ethernet jack. Well laid out UEFI, but for some reason, can't get my pentium past 3.8 GHz.

I'm not sure what to say about this. My biggest gripe with this product, by a long shot, was the fact that the first one was defective-costing us an extra week in build time and 1 hour to drive to Micro Center and exchange it. I'm not sure if we just got an odd one or if this is a consistent issue with ASRock QC, but I'm docking a star either way.

Otherwise, it's a 100% perfect board for the ITX factor and I have no problems with it. WiFi/BT works just fine, my client has a BT headset he's currently using without issues and the wireless transmission is excellent (actually faster than the inbuilt Ethernet by about 8mbps). Holds all components great and just does everything you need it to.

See CPU cooler comment. This motherboard brand was my second choice. That said, it had everything that I needed (plus an extra) with important items (power plugs, SATA connectors, etc) in the right positions. The last thing I wanted was the SATA connectors miles away from my HDD / SSD.
