Would it be possible to add some drop down boxes that the original poster has to complete before they post to say what country they are in and what their budget is? Too many people seem to work on the basis that those replying will be psychic.

questionmaster 6 points 45 months ago

that would be awsome!

And form factor: Tiny (mini-ITX), medium (Micro-Atx) Large (ATX) or jumbo (larger than ATX).

Good advice manirelli!

Color theme and overclocking would also help the people putting the builds together.

Also add:

Do you want any preferances for the build, certain brand name,... etc,

manirelli is there any way to put it as a sticky so they can always see before posting?

holsty101 1 Build 9 points 58 months ago

and a duplicate copy stickied to the "Part List Opinions Wanted" forum too.

Hazarded 5 points 58 months ago

Why not all forums to make it helpful.

Growliff1234 3 points 45 months ago

Not sure why you were downvoted on that... Good idea

I'd also like to add:

Keep in mind that you can save a ton by buying used (eg eBay; Auction or 'Buy Now'). The market is pretty reliable as long as you don't take a dumb approach. If you don't feel comfortable buying used, please say so. Unfortunately/fortunately I've taken used-build-list approaches first for budget builders to help them get the most bang for the buck, but some have other priorities.

Like I said, just something small to add.

^ this, I have found 5 GTX 980s in the Seattle area for $400, 4 new in box, one used

Is it possible to make a template for topic creation in this sub-forum with mandatory fields plus an other section?

LeMonarque 3 Builds 6 points 57 months ago

I like the idea of a template, but it shouldn't be mandatory in my opinion.

Atechless 2 Builds 13 points 57 months ago

I don't mean to say all fields mandatory but just a few which specify the wants of the OP and his/her means to attain it. I read a few of the posts here then just stopped because they basically read "0mg bild bf4 suprmachine 4 me."

Elvyn 1 point 56 months ago

Will do!

It would also be nice to know where in the world you are buying parts. I'm in the US, and prices differ vastly just between the US and Canada.

manirelli staff submitter 8 Builds 7 points 44 months ago

That's the second bullet point in the list.

Vergere 7 Builds 5 points 44 months ago

that's odd, bc no one seems to follow it.

nsyochum 2 Builds 4 points 44 months ago

I like your snark :P

Vergere 7 Builds 7 points 44 months ago

I mean, it's better than admitting that you can't read, right?

gasmonkeymankiller -8 points 43 months ago
