OC Memory on Mobos???

Hi so i'll be using this mobo: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97gaming5

and it says it supports 2400 RAM, I took a look at the manual and it says 2400 mhz (OC) does this mean I'd have to OC a regular 1600 ram sticks to 2400 MHZ to be compatible or I can just buy 2400 MHz RAM sticks and plug it in and it'll work straight off the bat.

You could do either :) Just make sure when you buy 2400mhz memory, go into your bios and set the xmp profile

Yaay :D was going for this memory; thoughts? Will be used for editing and gaming as well as multi-tasking, on facebook while playing bf4 and watch netflix on my other monitor. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmy16gx3m2a2400c11r

Corsair is my favorite memory brand; however, I typically prefer a CAS of 9 rather than 11.

But it's 2400 MHz, will a lower CAS be far more superior than more megahertz?

Typically CAS 9 and 1600MHz is more than plenty for anyone.

Here is the build, it's pretty much an Enthusiast build, and a beastly upgrade from the 6 year old PC I have now with 2gb RAM and dual core Athlon x2.

The (OC) means you have to overclock the processor's memory controller to 2400 mhz which means you have to have an unlocked processor.

As long as you have an unlocked processor I think it's just a matter of loading the XMP profile.
