LG GP60NB50

Links: https://amazon.com/dp/B00C2AMKR2 (silver) https://amazon.com/dp/B00C2AMK2M (black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D4PRXLP/ (refurb, multi)

Rationale: LG makes the best (read: cheap, quiet and reliable) drives in the industry. This one is bus powered, so you don't need extra cables. Also, it comes in a couple colors.

Warranties for all three drives are the exact same, plus if you get it on amazon you can return it for 60 days if you don't like the one you got. I'm pretty sure any of the drives will be ok, given that they are generic USB devices.

The Rioddas advertises USB 3.0, but it doesn't write any faster than the LG drives with USB 2.0 that cost about the same (all of them are 8x DvD write). Read speed differences are meaningless too, because you exhaust your hard drive's write speed quicker than the transfer speed of USB 2.0.

It comes down to which one you like the looks of better - the Rioddas has the option to tuck away the cable in the body, whereas the LG drives just have a port for a mini USB-B. LG is an established household brand, while Rioddas is not. Take your pick. ;)
