I've seen prices advertised from £10 to over £180 and was wondering if the cheaper ones were just scams/illegitimate?

They cheap keys are not legit/scams. There is a reason why they are being sold for so cheap.

Unless you have a coupon/discount code for a legit retailer like Amazon or Newegg, your best bet is probably to buy directly from Microsoft.

The cheap keys are either scams, not intended for use in the EU/NA markets, purchased with stolen credit cards, or grey market, etc. They may be deactivated by microsoft at any time. Or its some dumbo that doesnt know the true value of windows keys. But that rarely ever happens. The point is, Yes.
