Hi all, I am very new to this concept and don't have huge amounts of money but I would like help building a frugal pc that can stream and play games such as fortnite, apex legends, etc.. I want close to as cheap as possible without giving out on too much quality. Ideally I would like to be able to run OBS, Stream twitch/youtube, play games at the same time on the same pc. Is this possible at all on a frugal build? Let's see what you guys can come up with for me! I really appreciate anyone who takes time to read this and help me.

EDIT: I forgot to mention I already have a mouse (Logitech g502), headset (HyperX Cloud II), and OS. I need everything else. Would like to have 1 144hz monitor and one streaming monitor.

You can save a little more by using a R5 CPU but it causes you to sacrifice streaming quality settings so the extra is worth it in my opinion for 33% more cores.

Also included a second monitor so you can have the streaming software/chat tabs/anything else you might need well streaming up so you don't have to leave game to check those.

Thank you!! Is there any to push it under $800? I forgot to mention I already have a mouse (Logitech g502), headset (HyperX Cloud II), and OS. I need everything else. Would like to have 1 144hz monitor and one streaming monitor.

Even making some cuts wouldn't get you under $800 with a 144hz monitor.

And you would sacrifice streaming quality with a lower performance CPU.

Keeping the same monitors gets you close though.

Thank you that seems to be pretty reasonable for a 2 monitor build! I'll try to work this out. Is now a good time to buy parts or should I wait?

Andrewp232 2 points 1 month ago

I recommend reddit's r/buildapcsales You can easily save $100+ if you buy over the period of a week or two.

The time is as good as any.

New launches are confirmed awhile away.

And pricing seems to have dropped as low as it is going to.
