First, thank you for taking the time to read this.

So a little backstory is I started off by looking around for a decent $1k USD laptop for gaming. In the back of my head the whole time I kept thinking about trying to build my first PC and how everyone talks about how they built their PC and would never again buy one from a manufacturer. After finally caving in and surrendering to the PC Gods, I'm deciding to build one and to fill my right-of-passage as a PC gamer/enthusiast.

Knowing full well this is my first build and possibly my last since this spending money won't come back for a long time again, I decided to just use it all on something I won't need to upgrade for a while.

Things to know -First Build -Intel -Getting a 1440/144hz monitor

Anything I should consider? Again, Thanks for reading :)

first of all, i recommend this monitor: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CwgPxr/dell-s2417dg-238-165hz-monitor-s2417dg

lowest price 1440p- monitor with g-sync

faster refresh rate with 165hz refresh rate

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/d6ZfCb your part list is good, though i made a few changes- the dark rock cooler is quiet- powerful, and well worth the money

rtx 2070 is better than a gtx 1080 and has newer tech for the same price

extra case fans are needed in order not to fry the components

Not bad, but I would recommend that the OP go look at a couple monitors just to get an idea of feature size. For me, 24" is way too small for 1440p, I wouldn't go below 27" in that resolution. Others perhaps with better eyesight think 24" is fine.

I might suggest a SATA SSD instead of the 970 EVO to save a little, and put that into the PSU, maybe a Corsair TXM Gold.

That's a bad 1080 and you can go for the next gen stuff for your price point, while keeping/adding more RGB. This even has an Aura Sync mobo.

Can you give me Spec list?

If you care about RGB at all then you might want to look at this. I would get a different motherboard though because I don't like the one I put in this list (couldn't find one I like yet) - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nTfpMZ
