Go with the dell. If you get the 1080p panel you might as well have just gotten a 1070.
GTX 1080 is reasonable for 1080p 144+hz
I know, but IMO overkill, I'd go 1440p 144hz with a 1080.
I don't think the extra cost is worth it for the higher resolution in this case. The 1080 without lowering specs won't get 165 FPS in most games, if any excluding CS:Go/League and the likes.
At the same time the 1080Ti in a 16 game average didn't even average above 180 FPS on medium settings for 1080p. So OP won't achieve optimal FPS for either of these monitors with a GTX 1080 without severely sacrificing graphics settings/quality.
If you play super competitive FPS games get the ASUS, if you don't care about maxing out your FPS in most games get the Dell. On high settings on most AAA titles you'll only get ~90 FPS on the Dell but you should easily maintain ~125 on the Asus.
