Currently, microcenter has both the i5 6500 and the 6600k on sale for, $180 and $210 respectively. I plan on pairing it with the ASRock Fatal1ty mITX board due to the features at the price (and a nice extra $30 dollars off when buying a motherboard and CPU at micro center right now). I don't necessarily plan to use this as my daily PC more of a HTPC/portable LAN build, but who knows. Should I go for the 6600k or the 6500, both are a pretty good price in my opinion, I'm just not sure that I need the unlocked CPU. Will I regret saving a few bucks in like a week?

If you want to get the overclockable CPU, remember you will also have to buy an aftermarket cooler. If it fits in your budget, I would go for it, but if not, the i5-6500 will do just fine.
