Do I need to worry about static while building my PC?

I shall very soon start building my pc and was wondering if static is a really big deal. I will be working on tile floor on a wood table obviously but other than that, I don't have an anti static wristband is it a big deal?

Not as big of a deal as some people make it out to be.

No. Just don't build on carpet while wearing fuzzy socks and remember to ground yourself by touching some metal before you begin.

Very good advice, i always get scared when i see this topic come up and hear how the world of going to end if you dont have this that or the other.

The advice i do like to hear... dont build on carpet.

My build area is a linoleum floor a cheap plastic wal mart table and a grounded metal pole near by. That i touch for just a sec, between different parts of the build process

Very glad to here, i guess we will be seeing you in completed builds soon.

Edit: I see that it is completed and is just awaiting moderation.

Edit 2: Even know it is awaiting, i was able to see it, very decent job putting that together

Thanks :) It was my first ever build and it was a fun learning experience. The first of many in the future I hope!

It is not an issue really, and it is VERY hard to damage components with static. I do my PC building on carpet and have never had a single issue. Just touch the case every now and then.
