Hello. I have been dreaming of building a computer for a while now, and it has finally happened. I got most of the parts for my birthday. PCPartpicker really helped me out a lot when going through parts.
The i5 4690k had been amazing at stock speeds so far. I haven't overclock it yet but I am planning to due so.
The CPU cooler BARELY fits in my case. It is dead silent, however.
The mobo is great, although when installing my heavy graphics card, the pci-e lane almost came out! It has a lot of features, and the fact that it is z97 makes is a great overclocking board.
The memory is great and does its job. I heard people saying it was good on Youtube and PCPartpicker.
The SSD is one of the best in terms of value. It boots up Windows and other programs super quickly. I would highly recommend it. However, working with an SSD and HDD combo is hard. I installed most of my programs on the SSD and can't move them to the HDD. Any advice on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
WD Caviar Blue does its job.
Gigabyte Windforce G1 Gtx 970 (that is a mouthful!) is a great but heavy card. It sags, and someone told me to reroute the wires and tie the gpu to the case via fishing line. I will do this soon. So far an amazing graphics card in terms of value.
The case... was interesting. People said it was awesome, so I bought it. It scratches SO easily. My window looks like someone took a key and scraped it across the case. However, cable management was a breeze. Another complaint is that I couldn't screw the hard drive in because I couldn't get it out or reach it. The SSD is also just sitting in the hard drive bay because The SATA cables didn't really fit into it when it was in the 2.5" bay.
PSU is overkill but awesome. IMO, XFX and SeaSonic make the highest-quality power supplies. I made the mistake of installing all of the cables after it was in the case.
I couldn't get the Asus Xonar and TP Link to work after attempting the install the drivers. Need to work on that some more.
Monitor is great, 1ms response time and 144hz is a plus.
That is my pc build, feedback is greatly appreciated!
Great processor for the money.
Great CPU cooler. Very big, despite the name "slim".
Great. I put to much on, and am getting bad temps. Oops.
Good mobo, not the sturdiest.
It's ram. It's fast. It's great.
AMAZING ssd. Super fast (Windows boots up in like 5 seconds).
Not much I can say. It's a great drive
One of the better gtx 970's out there. Took off a star because of how heavy and big it is.
Decent case for the price, but stratches a lot
Amazing. Seasonic rebrand. Need I say more?
