My brother asked me to make a build for him under $1000. I decided to browse the r/bapcs and r/hws subreddits to see what deals I could find. He will mainly be using this build for competitive gaming @ 1080p and some streaming/video editing.

CPU + MOBO: Ryzen 7 2700X + ASUS X570-P
I bought this board in a bundle with the Ryzen 5 2600 from Newegg. I ended up using just the board for this build and swapped out the 2600 for a 2700x that I found on r/hardwareswap.
Cooler: Corsair H100i Pro RGB
Found this deal local on OfferUp. Paid $100 for it brand new sealed in box. The stock thermal paste that comes with this cooler isn't bad. Cools the 2700X to 28-30c idle and about 60c on load.
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB White 3000Mhz CL15 32GB (2(2x8GB))
Not a lot of sales for white Corsair RAM. I was able to find two 16 GB Kits on r/hardwareswap for 160. Honestly I might switch this RAM kits out with something that's more overclock friendly. I really liked the aesthetic of the RAM as it matches the white theme we have going on with this build.
Case + PSU: Corsair 570X RGB + Corsair AX760
Found a great deal for for the PSU and Case on r/hardware swap. Got them both for $177. Buying it used comes with its downsides. The 2 HDD trays were missing but thankfully, I was able to find some for sale on ebay. The logo on the PSU shroud is missing the LED behind it. Not sure if I can replace it, but its not too big a deal. Lastly, it did not come with case screws and was missing a motherboard stand off. I had spare screws and standoffs from other builds so that wasn't too much of a hassle.
GPU: ASUS STRIX RX 580
Found this one on r/hws for $135. Works great for the most part. There is a bit of a coil-whine but its barely noticeable. This component and storage is probably what I would upgrade down the line. RX 580 is still a decent card in 2019.
Storage: WD Blue M.2 250GB + WD RED HDD 2 TB
Pretty good deal on these storage drives. A 250GB boot drive for a few games and 2TB for storage. The case has and mobo provide a decent amount of options for storage upgrades. Definitely would add a bit more SSD storage. Probably another 256/512GB M.2 drive (I hate cables).
