Description

Got these parts for my sons 6th birthday as he said he wanted a pc and i did not want to just go to pc world and buy a prebuild. We built it together, had some fun and learned a thing or two. Super happy with how it all turned out. This was the first pc we had ever built and it was super easy using sites like this and youtube. Cannot wait to build mine now.

The only issue i had was when i had completed the build i plugged it into the monitor via hdmi and had a no signal message on the screen. I had a massive panic that we had done something wrong... turns out i had to change the input on the monitor to hdmi, stupid i know but my thought were blurred by all the excitement and fear i guess.

Was the cooler hard to install? I found the manual difficult to understand, the instructions weren't specific enough.

jonisgood submitter 1 Build 3 points 27 months ago

It wasnt too bad the arm was a little fiddly, i would deffinately recomend installing it outside the case.

ZackKoutaRoxas 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

My dad showed me how to operate MS-DOS... :P This looks endearing, though <3

Great build! Glad to see a father/son project! But why not rotate the cooler 90 degrees to the left so that you use the exhaust as a push/pull for the cpu cooler? Not that it's a big deal, I'm just OCD. Great build AND prices.

jonisgood submitter 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

The mount for the clip was just that way round. I figured it wouldnt be a big deal. But i know what you mean that thought did cross my mind.

jonisgood submitter 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

after having another look at the cooler, (because i have a second one i purchased to put in my pc eventually.) i realize the arm can be posted between the pipes and run along the grooves. this was my first build and this didnt occur to me at the time i put the arm together first then assumed that was the only way it would fit through the cooler.

I'm close to building pc for the first time. I'm 26 and it's so exciting for me. Had to be epic adventure for this little guy :D enjoy!

jonisgood submitter 1 Build 3 points 27 months ago

I am 26 too and this was my first build. could not be happier with it. Watched a bunch of youtube videos whilst waiting on my parts to arrive so i knew what to expect. Good luck with your build.

Movie_Gamer1237 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

any particular reason you pointed the CPU fan down towards the graphics? only thing I came up with was a fan at the top of the case..

prettyflamazing 2 points 25 months ago

What does a 6 year old need a gaming pc for? All I was doing when I was 6 was running around outside.

This isn't your child man. This is a great dad doing something with his son. Of course he will regulate the time he uses. But hop off. Leave this **** in your own mind. Not your kid not your problem.

Anyone can have an SSD, It's not like its age restricted, just to help with the booting of the OS, no harm done with one, if he wants to spoil his kid, why not let him.

Liam81 3 points 27 months ago

Kids do not usually have the best patience..... So maybe using a SSD is a good move?? Maybe ??

I am speaking from experience when I say that MInecraft with a P4 isn't very enjoyable.

Liam81 2 points 27 months ago

Would you have just saved the money or allocated it differently?

jonisgood submitter 1 Build 3 points 27 months ago

I had to impress my wife also as she trusted me to just purchase the parts and i just wanted that wow factor. That little bit faster startup and such contributed to that.

jonisgood submitter 1 Build 3 points 27 months ago

Also it was only £40 i got it when i saw it pop up on hot uk deals which i was checking often for parts to pop up.
