Description

Closed loop hard tube cooled Ryzen gen2 mid level gaming/streaming box.

Beware, getting the correct part number for the Ryzen compatible RAM is difficult. In general the part numbers that end with "X" are the Ryzen ones. Also, by default, the RAM runs at well below its rated speed. You'll need to tune it in BIOS to whatever the rated speed is.

I honestly want to know, how much did the fittings around the pump and reservoir area cost? XD

How difficult was it to set that RAM up? I'm looking at the exact same kit as yours but the 2x8gb. My motherboard is the same, ch7 ROG with a 2600X ryzen. I've been an intel person before, never done anything except enable XMP for the proper RAM speeds to work.

There are two different kits, one with 14 CAS latency, like yours -- the other is 16 CAS

16: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nyyV3C/gskill-trident-z-rgb-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3200-memory-f4-3200c16d-16gtzrx

I've seen prices around $170 USD for the 16cas vs $240-270 for the 14 cas. Do you think the extra money is actually worth it?

The CAS 14 kit is basically guaranteed to work because it is Samsung B Die. I'm not sure about the CAS 16 one, just check your motherboard's QVL list and find a kit you like that is supported at 3200 speeds.

Edit: I read some reviews for the 16 CAS kit using the Crosshair VI, and they were able to get it up to it's rated speeds. Because you have 2nd gen Ryzen, it'll most likely work due to improved memory compatibility over 1st gen.

I'm using the same Crosshair VII as you, not sure about the VI comment. So I'm assuming either kit would work. Just trying to save a buck. May end up just getting the cas 14 kit

I was looking through my comment history and found this again. I meant to type VII not VI, sorry about that!
