Graphics card seems a little under-powered for maxed out 144 fps gaming, it would probably work on lower settings id assume.

Do you mean hertz?

Well he probably means he can reach that fps level. 144hz would just be a frequency. That is obviously my opinion on the matter

I don't think you could reach 144 fps on a 144hz monitor on recent games with high/ultra settings with a single 970, that's just me

Most people who get a 144hz monitors rarely end up getting 144fps anyways. You are right it wont, but I think most people get the monitors to simply go above 60hz. After all 100fps is still noticeably different compared to 60fps

Maybe not on AAA titles but certainly on many competitively ayed games. And for most of the AAA games. He should be able to reach 100fps or a bit more at 1080p which is pretty good. I admit that the title is a bit misleading

Good luck locking 144hz on BF4 or equivalent on ultra. Maybe at 720p.

bf4 still has 90fps+ on oc'd 970 1080p. He should benefit from the extra frames provided he has good eyesight.

He said 144hz. Not 90hz.

However he never said 'Locking' at 144hz either.

Typically people like to leave V-sync on, so the frames aren't fluctuating.

I turn off Vsync in 90% of my games because I can't stand lag, so I deal with the screen tearing instead.

what about adaptive v-sync

Need more pics and the description doesn't live up to the name considering the parts bud. To the max would mean maxing out the mobo and getting the highest level of processing power while liquid cooling it and OCing the hell out of it. I would consider this a good high end build.
