Description

so... After I put together a complete new computer for myself, I was looking at all the parts I had laying around. And I called my little brother to have him return my other old parts which he had replaced my new ones that he had purchased. And I whent on to build a computer for my 2 kids. Now, they are only 9 and 10 years old, so they play games like Minecraft, Sims and so on...

I know the GPU's in SLI might be a bit overkill, but, hey... I had them laying around :P

As stated above, this is a build put together after I bought myself a new computer, so it's what I had laying around realy :) I actually have 4 sticks, but they wouldn't fir cause of the CPU cooler (fan).

Not bad! How are temps at load?

Seriously, a single fan 212 Evo in ambient (70F or 20C) air cooling a 220W CPU is a tall order. When I ran my system with an FX-8350 at 1.475V vcore and 4.8GHz it ran quite toasty.

It should be mentioned that AMD FX CPUs from the Vishera line are around 60C max Core temp before errors occur IIRC.

Neat-o build tho for sure!

so, been running Prime95 for about 1 hour now. Kinda getting 2 temps from the monitor. CPU package are showing max temp 59C, but on the motherboard infor, it says my CPU max is at 68C.

That is a little high for an AMD chip, most of what I am seeing recommends keeping them under 60C. That chip is a bit much for an Evo at full load, should be ok a light use. Even adding a second fan to the Evo is not going to help all that much. You may be able to mess with the settings and down clock it if you wanted to cool it down without spending any more cash.

if you have 2 970's laying around, what else is just laying around... and can I have it plis??!!

From much experience you really should water cool that 9370. It is going to cause havoc with the mother board and kill itself.

I have an 240 AiO watercoolier laying here somwhere. But I need new fans, as I used those on my brothers GPU, heh.... real getto. He's using my old 780 GTX still, but the stock fan stopped working. So I zip-tied 2 120's on the GPU, so he can keep playing his flightsimulator. (added a picture from that fix).
