Description

I built this little piece before Xmas last year with help :3 I previously put off a desktop as I was a student and having a laptop was just more convenient at the time (plus pc building seemed complex!)

I am a casual gamer, playing mostly LoL, WoW and some random rpg steam games so I did not need a monster plus I wanted to stick under a budget of 1K so I could get decent peripherals as well!

Now over 2 months & a half months since my build, everything has been working well:

  • So glad I got separate SSD and HDD, it makes all the difference in loading games/programs/os compared to previously.

  • I got way more ram than I needed but I can always upgrade my mobo/gpu to full sizes in the future so no worries there.

  • The gpu has improved my gaming experience so much and being able to see all the details in ultra high settings feels amazing ( I was previously worried that the 3gb was not enough)! Also I can't believe how the prices have shot up due to crypto mining :O ( I previously only paid around £180)

  • I absolutely adore my case for the look, the quality, the size and the style!

  • I kind of cheapened out on the psu as the cable management is non-existent so my bad.

This build isn't perfect but she is mine and I am proud of her :)

well, there are cables, but the cable-management? I have something to share with you... USE ZIP TIES!

Oh believe me, I tried and failed...! I probably need a cable management 101 course :P It sits quietly below my desk and out of sight so for now it isn't a huge concern yet! But yes I am quite ashamed I didn't do a better job at it ._.

On the PC specs sheet in your images, it shows your Ram is running t 1066mhz for some reason. Check your Bios.

Oh I haven't even noticed that! Thanks for pointing that out!

How does the Samsung SSD perform? Is it worth it?

It is by far the best rated one out there and for the price/quality/reliability/performance it's definitely worth it. If you need more storage and have a bit more money, you can opt for the 500GB. I mainly use my SSD for OS & regular games, the boot/loading time is like around 5 seconds.

How did you fit this all into less than 700?
