Description

I am 13 and I bought these parts with my Christmas money and some of my saved money. I mainly use this for gaming with friends but also use it for general use, like homework, youtube videos, ect..

The building itself was messy and fun, I had boxed all over my living room. I came across a problem where the computer would not post but I had it post an hour earlier, I was me being a plonker and turned something on in the bios by accident. I fixed this by removing the battery. Other than that everything went fine.

Overall the parts I chose are perfect, even though I plan to upgrade my storage and add a 240gb SSD as I have 12gb left with a selection of my games.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU, wish I had went with the 6500 but amazon was out of stock and everywhere else had it priced higher the the 6600 :/

Motherboard

Does what it needs to do, looks nice in my case. LEDs have many color choices.

Video Card

Silent most of the time, fans dont move unless the GPU hits 60 degrees, even with fans set to 40-50 in MSI afterburner the thing is still very silent.

Case

Best budget case, clean and black with a window houses my red and black theme perfectly. Cable management was a bit fiddly.

Power Supply

£15 cheaper thanks to another "damaged box". 650 watts is more than enough for me.

Monitor

Got it for £10 cheaper thanks to a "damaged" box, when it arrived there was no noticeable damage to the box or monitor. Great 24" monitor, perfect for me.

nice build but I would get a 1 tb hard drive before another ssd

firespitter2917 2 points 38 months ago

i would too although if you did get another ssd don't get the same get a better one such as hyperx fury (budget) or the 850 evo or even an m.2

I didn't but that is the speed it runs at most of the time with turbo.

Nice build! I'm going to build my first PC soon and I think I'm gonna upgrade to the R9 380/380X. Both seem like very capable cards.

very capable!

Even though the 6400 is a newer architecture than the 4460, how come it is under 2.7GHz?

Snowball2 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Not all GHz are equal. 6400 is still more powerful.

You coulda got the m.2 mb with that price and with a worse case and a bit more money you can get a 6500 or a gtx 1050ti
