Description

So it is complete. I know i posted this before saying that it was complete but now it really is. After a good amount of black plastidip and cable managing it is finished. And the best thing about it is that you cant hear it. It is soooo quiet. wait no, the best thing is the looks? nah i dont really know. i like this orange DYI machine :) Feel free to ask any questions you want. And if someone of you guys are from Norway, it is for sale :) There is one question that people might ask that i just as well gonna answer now. Yes the USB 3.0 ports are removed. Yes it is because they were blue :)

Was this a sponsored build by be quiet!?

Any reason the PSU is upside down and any reason you went for that particular be Quiet! unit?

BeQuiet are an awesome company, the cooler is as good as a noctua but less ugly (though tough to fit) the case reminds me of the Antec 900 which was a great case and their PSUs are pretty solid for the most part though a bit overpriced where I live

MOST of the PSU s are good. They have some tier 3 units in their. And yes their coolers are great. I have owned many.

OPs 600w looks to be an e10 unit which is OEM'd by FSP. It is not the best but is certainly not bad. If there was a tier 2b that is where it would fall.

Ok most are good since the pure power 8 arent that good but the straight power 9, dark 10 and 11 are exellent

  • 1 point

Nahh the straight power 9 are solid tier 3. They are not great. Better than alot, but not awesome by any means.

yup, that psu is upside-down...Still, lovely build! Shame you took out the usb 3.0 on the front panel...

It is not sponsored, the reason for the PSU beein "upside down" is looks, love that grill :)

oh, thought it was because you will be putting it on the floor and you have carpet. lol

It also works as an extra exhaust fan, and it is never reaky struggeling and the fan is so quiet, i cant realy see the problem.

I like it, it looks nice and is quiet conpared to other coolers even on 100%.

You have one of the most expensive Z87 mobos and a high performance, expensive air cooler for a locked 4460?

  • 2 points

wild guess: because of color.

  • 1 point

Did if for a colour as gugu "guessed". i can overclock it by 0.2Ghz but i am not into OC so it would not matter if i could do more.

it's big, but it looks good!

Didn't you have green and black cables or was that another guy. And also you should totally put in the new linus tech tips noctua fan in there and send it to linus. That would be so cool. I wanted to do a colour build like this but I bought a white case that I will use for a while.

  • 1 point

Yeah that was me, i did not like the green cables and the green GTX logo on the GPU so i changed them out. About the LTT fans. Im a bit afraid of puting in another orange that might not match ant the be-quiet! fans are awesome :)

  • 2 points

Where can i get those cables, and do you think that cpu cooler handle some oc.

  • 1 point

http://www.icemodz.eu/ The CPU cooler could defenatly handle som OC, it is holding my CPU that is not overcloacked at about 23 idle and 34 load if i ramp up the fans a little.

Gorgeous build bro. The 800 is such a beautiful case at such a good price I'm really surprised you don't see it more. One question, why white cathodes? I feel like orange cathodes would have made this perfection.

  • 1 point

Because i feel like coloured LEDs in general does not light up that nice so i went with a safe white. Like the NZXT orange 2m LED did not light it up at all...

Always a fan of orange and black themed builds.

Really clean cable management, and I love the the sleeved cables.

I really like the CPU cooler decision. I was trying to pick up a Dark Pro 3 for my last build, but they were out of stock everywhere.

I have never seen this case used in a build before. It looks real sharp. How was the cable management?

I know it's not really visible, but the orange G. Skill Ares RAM would have looked really nice. :P

Hope this gets featured. +1

The only problem i had is that i have a non-modular PSU, this ment that the plate i have infornt of the HDD cage is hiding all my leftover cables. I also HAD to have sleeved cables so i got extensions (extensions=more cable mess) and the LED cables were short ttoo. this ment that i had to rout a extra cable. BUT! With tha case on the ground, my knees pushing the bottom panel in and my arms pushing the top in i managed to get the panel on :)

I could not find any orange ram in norway woth the specs i was looking for :(

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! :P

Well worth the cable management. Turned out great.

I think it would worth a shot to paint the RAM heat sinks orange. Just a thought.

Hahaha, was thinking about it, i have some orange plastidip but im done whit this now. The last thing i wanna do is open up the back xD (would have to remove the cooler) . It is done and it was amazing to build it! :D

Considering you had such a fun time getting the back panel on, its probably a good idea to just leave it hahaha.

Seldom make comments on someone's build but your build is hard to pass. It's beautiful & a true work of art. The cable management is top notch. Good job man.

Great looking build with outstanding cable management, for sure. Love the cooler - it may be a complete pain in the tuckus to install, but it pretty much has no equal when it comes to noise levels.

  • 2 points

Hows the sound/airflow on the stock fans?

  • 1 point

The sound? What sound? :D They are by far the best stock fans ive ever had in a case. I have seen fans with better airflow but then again in the sacrefice of noise. You can ram these up for excelent airflow but then again, more noice. The 120mm i defenatly the most efective one im my testings. But the NoiceToAirflow radi is the best you can get.

I'm glad to hear. I'm planning out a build that I want to do for my work computer, and I think this case should be good for it. :3

Orange and blue don't seem good together imo but you have great cable management. Mine is a mess due to the cheap case. I have a small question that makes me confused: Why is the GTX 780 still so expensive even though it's an earlier model compared to GTX 970 or 980? It's even pricer than the GTX 980.

  • 2 points

its orange and black, besides the leds, I dont see any blue...

  • 1 point

That is just what a new one costs, it was the only price i found. ofc used ones go for around 250USD. I cant spot anything blue? if it is the lights they are white, might have to do with camera and your screen.

I saw the light and thought it was blue. My bad!

How is it that you got the 3D printed cover to block of the HDD bays? Did you put the drives in backwards?

  • 1 point

No, i designed a plate with custom cutouts for the screws. That way i just put the plate between the cage and the screws :D

  • 1 point

Wow nice! By any chance would you happen to have uploaded the schematic to any "maker" type websites?

  • 1 point

Yes i do :D After some search i found where i made it. You might wanna make the hole a little wider as i had to do some drilling, it might just be an imperfection in the making of it :P

Here it is:
