Hi PCPP community, Here we have the teeny tiny E-W60 case fused with the AMD 2200g.
This was built for my wife so she could have her own computer as she always hogs my main rig to do important tasks, like play Candy Crush and surf the web.
It also seconds as a travelling gaming PC as I'm away with work fairly often.
So far I haven't had any major issues with the build process, the board came as 'Desktop Ryzen 2000 ready' so there was no need to update the bios to recognise Raven Ridge.
However when I initially loaded into Bios the cpu temps were reading 127c almost had a heart attack, apparently this is a bug with bios version 4.4 also the M.2 was not recognised. This was all sorted out by updating the BIOS to 4.5 and windows preceded to happily install.
XMP profile for the RAM is running no problems at 3200 MHZ this is one of the main reasons I went with Asrock as it has a broad list of supported RAM and rated speeds. Given that Ryzen/Vega does well with higher clocked ram I thought this was a no brainer.
I have only benched CSGO at this point and on high settings at 1080p I'm getting between 60-120 FPS this has exceeded my expectations for this APU.
The Vinyl was all cut by hand and took about 30 minutes to have it all finished.
Will be posting more gaming benchmarks at a later date.
So far the wattage measured at the wall is as follows - 23 watts idle -102 watts at full load CPU/APU/Ram @2200 Mhz - 85 watts Aida64 CPU load -108 watts CPU/APU/Ram @3200 Mhz
A shout out to alejcho for helping me out with PSU queries as this was my first delve into (ultra small) power supply units.
And I do plan to add two 50mm fans on the side as this thing is terrible for airflow.
Hope you enjoyed the write up. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the build.
