Description

Its taken me some time and research but I have finally decided to make the switch from team red to team green.

This is my first personal build using an NVIDIA card but I still wanted to keep true to my AMD roots so decided to go for a Red and Black theme.

I wanted the PC to last me atleast 2 years so after saving and buying the parts I needed either as part of newegg specials or deals here locally Australia I was finally able to put together something I was happy with.

This is also my first post to the pcpartpicker site which has been ever so helpful in providing me with ideas around components to use in my build. Thankyou PC Part Picker and the PPP community!

That desk looks sexier than my entire rig.... And then you place that sexy beast of a PC on it? How dare you make me feel sorry that I ever thought I could have a decent setup and destroy my hopes and dreams and force me to call the doctor because my jaw just dropped...

In all seriousness this is one heck of an amazing build, you should feel proud, +1

Haha Thanks! The desk and filing cabinet were around AU $100 each from IKEA. Feeling very proud after all the nice comments from everyone. :-)

Amazing build dude... Absolute stunning build with great cable management and a great overall setup! How do you like your Ducky Mini?

Thank-you sir! I The Ducky keyboard is great although a little too small I think for gaming and I do miss the numpad.

Beautiful Build, what kind of temps are you getting on the GPU? +1 for the Phanteks EVOLV and for going with Mini-ITX

  • 2 points

Thanks! I used to have an EVOLV Micro ATX case and loved it so thought I would go for the little brother. The fact the case was limited edition though was just icing on the cake for a couple of $ more!

Temps of the GPU when overclocked to 1500Mhz hit around the 85 Degrees Celsius mark.

How are you liking that monitor?

  • 1 point

Its the first G-Sync monitor I have owned so I wasnt sure what to expect but so far I am blown away by the response times of the screen when gaming and the colours. Makes a real difference from a TN panel that's for sure!

any issues with backlighting or glow? which i know it being an ips there might be some

  • 1 point

Surprisingly not as bad as some of the reviews. I think I was lucky with this panel this time around as from what I've read it's the luck of the draw when the come off the factory line.

I know it has 4 pin headers but is it pwm because newegg said other wise. Hope to use this board in my first build.

  • 1 point

These fans came in a 3 pack and connect to a header unit which allows you to change the fan colour and the speed which the fans run. The fans are 4pin pwm however if you buy them individually in set colours they are indeed 3 pin. Hope that helps and good look with your build!

Hey man, love the build. +1 ONE little thing though, why not go with a Samsung EVO 120GB or Kingston SSDVNOW Series to stay with the Red/Black aesthetic?

if im not mistaken you have a 140 in the rear and a 280 rad mounted on the roof, hows the clearance cause i was looking to do the same thing. great rig!

Agree the Fury X is a great card. I did look at going with this to begin with but the price I managed to get the 980ti for was close to $100 less here in Australia as part of a 20% discount through the Kogan store on eBay. Also I would have needed to go down a full water-cooled set-up to fit the fury in the case unless I put the rad for it at the front which I presumed would have restricted cooling and looked cramped.

Great board so far and it came with no damage what so ever! The only real reasons I bought this board was because it had HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.1 as well as the great colour and half the price of the latest ASUS ROG m-ITX offering.
