Description

This is my first gaming PC build. All white on the outside and all black on the inside (except for those nice brown noctuas).

I bought most of the parts when they were on sale or when there were rebates. Doing this probably saved me a few hundred dollars!

Nothing really special, just a standard build. The H110's stock fans were super loud so I had to replace them.

Before someone starts bashing your build because you bought a 980ti...

Nice build +1

With the current sales and whatever the OP wants to do, it may work very well.

I think that the 980ti will probably stay relevant for at least the next few years, actually. The only people I'd recommend to wait for Pascal are the people who would be buying a 970

How do you like that monitor? I was trying to decide between the one you got and the rog swift (non ips)

same

Also same, though I am leaning towards the dell to put next to my 24" thin bezel dell and send my old 24" HP back to my mom.

First I need a GPU to support the higher res/FPS, then another month or two to get the cash for the monitor. Then before that I can debate if a 34" 60fps would be better than the 27" and a 24"...

Maybe by then it'll be another year out and they prices will drop even more?

I refuse to get a 60hz monitor after playing on 144hz for so long and I need a 1ms response time so sadly ips isn't an option. I'm going to get the gtx 1080 when its released so I'm not really worried about not having enough power

Fair warning, and I do see that happening when I reach 144hz. You'll definitely have the power, nice. I'll probably end up at about the same thing.

Though tbh I was playing goat sim coop today on iGPU and it does vertical split screen for 2 players, left and right. An ultra wide would be sweet for that coop.

The best thing about this monitor was the price. t totally feels like an IPS monitor since I am mostly staring straight at it. You can get this for 400$ now if you wait for the right deals.

The bezels are nice and thin, which is pretty awesome.

Is the picture really good compared to other 1430p monitors or is it average?

Was thinking the same thing. "Damn, that's a lot of cables"

+1 for the parts pickup a cable management rack and some zipties/velcro to wrap cables together and then route them through other than that awesome build don't listen to the people talking about Pascal Cards the 980 ti will still perform above average for a while.
