Doing photography and video editing, I need a lot of horsepower.

This configuration meets every exceptions I was looking for:
- silent
- really f%%king performant
- enough headroom for 5-10 years
- no sh%tty RGB and childish things

The final configuration
- dual E5-2696V4 = 2x22c = 44c/88t
- 8x8 gb of DDR4 ECC REG = 64gb of ram
- Motherboard Asus Z10PA-D8
- MSI Sea Hawk GTX1070 EK - SSD 1 Samsung 850 Pro 512go (Windows)
- SSD 2 Samsung 850 Evo 4000go (storage)

No need to call those who like RGB as childish. If you don't like it, that's fine.

Anyhow, that's a real powerhouse you got there! +1

I personally like RGB so I can make all of my components one color and add some holiday spirit to my computer. The whole unicorn diarrhea is annoying to me though.

A lot of things are useless. It’s not limited to RGB. You don’t need to be a **** about it.

I don't think it's childish. It looks weird to me that people go full blown rainbow with the RGB, but I don't consider it childish. I would use RGB lights to change colours when I get bored of one. Maybe I want my system to glow red for a little, or blue, or white.

And a lot of things are on so many parts and is not limited to the realm of PCs.

All of my parts are RGB and i just set it to what i feel like, white with hints of purple, green with white, and pink with white. it doesn't have to be just rainbow craze, you can also have it set to a certain color.

Give me a single well designed and thought out (emphasis on "thought out") color scheme any day of the week over yet another RGB system.

AMEN!!

  • 1 point

Why is everyone hating on RGB?? A little bit of light and color can really add to the aesthetic, just dont overkill. (I also speak croissant btw)

  • 1 point

Because Most RGB builds ARE overkill

  • 1 point

But that doesnt mean that RGB is inherently evil, you should spend some more time on this site actuallly looking at other peoples builds. youll find some examples of RGB overkill, but youll also find some visually appealing builds with thought out color schemes that ALSO have RGB. See if you dont.

May I ask why all the fans are exhausting?

  • 1 point

Because the heat had to go outside the case. I used to know a Silverstone FT05 with a 360x180mm radiator, the heat was passing inside the case, and the composants was hot.

[comment deleted by staff]

  • 1 point

For this point, you're right, but there aren't any other possibility with this case.
I can barely add 3 intakes fans:
- one on the back
- one on the bottom (but I have to remove the 120mm rad)
- one on the side panel (which is currently the case)

  • 1 point

Well, so much exaust will fill your case with dust since you create a negative pressure.

Since your main radiator is on the top, I would turn those fans around to pull 'fresh' air into the rad, instead of the reverse. I would also add a fan on the rear outside the case to push more air into the case, and you would then have positive pressure, hot air will come out from the front and your system will still stay cool (even cooler than your actually fan setup).

Why didn't you choose parallel configuration for your GPU water blocks? Why linear? That way you could have had both CPU cooled at the same grade. Now the 2nd will have the warmer liquid from the first CPU. Any reason why you stuck with the linear configuration?

Are these soft tubings?

  • 2 points

There isn't any big difference of temperature between both temperature. When doing full stress test, I got only 1 to 2° of difference.

This is the loop : pump - - > rad 120 - - > gpu - - > radiator 420 - - > cpu 1 - - > cpu 2 - - > rad 280 - - > pump

And yes, soft tubing ftw!

Thanks for the info. I thought there would be higher temperature differences. Maybe with overclocking.

Nice build, well done! ;)

I'll admit I have RGB lighting in my build but it's because every damn part comes with RGB now and I'm just too lazy to turn it off, so I try to color code it. I spent more time looking for a motherboard with no RGB lighting but that was near impossible for Ryzen 7 so I was like **** it lemme try to color code it. I'd rather have a white back light for something like my keyboard, but no it came with bright blue LEDs. (My friend actually came over, saw my build, and called me a hypocrite because of that. That's how well known my hate for RGB lighting was)

I'm honestly sick of RGB and my hate stems from my time with laptops. I don't want a god damn bright red Laptop screaming every time I open it, so I opted for a weaker laptop that looked clean and professional. This gamer ******** needs to die with it's sharp nonsensical edges, uncoordinated colors, and flashy RGB. Maybe it's because I appreciate design over showing the whole world I'm a gamer but please they need to cut it out.

  • 3 points

There's nothing wrong with RGB or LEDs, but that's crazy if you don't have the option to turn it off on something like a laptop.

I actually have quite large hands, and it still fits me well... I used to use a Mad Catz R.A.T. 7 a few years ago, and it was a decent mouse until the sensor broke... It seems they've had a lot of issues with their sensors, that's probably why they went out of business a few months back.

I'm glad it fits your hand well too! I used to look at their R.A.T. models for many years, but I don't think I understood mice back then and I had a hard time finding mice to fit my hand size. I remember their 7 and 9, but never purchased them because I was uncertain of the size and wasn't quite smart at the time (meaning I didn't bother to research more so I never bought them).

Doesn't surprise me about the sensor issues since I heard others mention it too, and I notice their website from last month wasn't working properly anymore? Or maybe it was just me...

The mouse I used in between was a 5$ HP mouse, it was terrible... I can't believe how much of an upgrade it was, there is a hugely noticeable difference in the sensor, the macro buttons are great, and it just has nice curves... For a mouse that goes on sale for 50$ quite often, it's unbeatable.

Oh yes, I believe you about the differences between a cheap everyday mouse between a well developed mouse that doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Just have to do your research and try it out to see if it works out. I rarely can use macro buttons because again, my hand is small. This is my first time to actually be able to use the side buttons for once (not just the mouse 3 button in the center). I was not able to do this with my previous mouse until I got the G502 and they did it right by my experiences. And I agree with you, it's an amazing purchase for $50 or less for such quality mouse with an adjustable weight and software.

I bought a pair of E5-2620V3 with 8x8 gb of ECC REG ram for a dirt cheap. It was cheaper and easier to upgrade both CPU, than to sell the motherboard, RAM and CPU. And the E5-2696V4 has a high turbo boost frequency. They can run @ 3.7ghz when using a small amount of core, and while running them all at 100%, they're running @ 2.6ghz.
