Description

As the title says, this is a PC for streaming, I use this for Twitch and YouTube; PC and PS4 (elgato) gaming. Of course things like Memory, video card and Power supply can easily be upgraded but this was what I could afford at the time. (Tax refund..lol). A friend of mine recommended me this site to pick out the necessary parts and also taught me what was important to NOT mess up on (CPU, COOLER. MOTHERBOARD). This game can handle next gen ports, A way to see how this can run well is to buy a recent next gen ported game and test the waters. If you have any questions, go ahead and ask. Also the experts here; advice and criticism is much needed here. I make sure I maintenance my PC every two weeks as well.

I am new at posting things on this site, so bare with me.

Ryzen would've ben a better option for a streaming PC (R5-1600, R7-1700) Becasue of the multiple core count. 4 Cores is fine for sreaming, but If you're playing games on the PC at the same time, it may not perform very well.

Also: Turn that Waterblock 90 degrees

Ryzen would have been the better option, for sure.

I can confirm this, as someone who recently had to upgrade my wife's computer because her i7 (4 cores, 8 threads) was bottlenecking during heavy gaming/streaming. Now that she has an R7-1700 she hasn't had any dropped frames and her CPU usage hovers around 30%-40% during streams.

Other than that, OP did a great job for a first time build! +1

Edit: It might be a good idea to plug in your rear exhaust fan to a fan header on the motherboard and some additional cable management wouldn't hurt either lol

I am planning on upgrades (very significant ones) Ryzen would be great but I will have to buy a new motherboard for compatibility reasons. I plan to get an MSI gaming motherboard. Still have to check what's an above average MSI board though for the latest Ryzen CPU since well, I'm no expert at this at all.

Just to be clear, so you use on-machine software to do your streaming (OBS, ShadowPlay etc.)? I have terrible performance with those on a similar machine and have started building a separate stream rig instead. What is the URL for your streams/recordings?

If you did not spend 130 on Windows but bought a code for 30 online and did not spend 110 on a cooler your could buy a six core i7-6800 and easily throw in a nice CPU cooler for the same budget.

I plan a major upgrade later this year and early 2018. This PC currently holds up well with 1080p streams with OBS. My ram will likely get a big upgrade.

Why bother with such a poor PSU and then get a 1070. Also turn the waterblock 90 degrees, and a 1070 is for 1440p a 1060 would've been a much wiser choice allowing you to get a better PSU.
