I needed to make windows for the case, I like being able to see the guts inside the pc :)

I attached a bunch of pictures to try and show the procedures I took.

cables look on point, I love the yellow, and overall looks pretty sick!

Thank you, I do not see many yellow themes which is part of the reason I went this direction.

Would you be willing to make a tutorial on making the custom windows? Fantastic build.

I can probably make one if I find some spare time, I will be heading back to school/work from parental leave and will be quiet busy but will try to find some time to do so :)

  • 1 point

Yeah, what type of rubber(?) did you use to attach the window to the case @GetCarter? Where did you purchase it from?

  • 1 point

that would be cool. let me know if you do!

Nice build. Why a 1350w psu though? +1

  • 2 points

Thank you!

Kind of a long story lol, I originally had a ocz 850w psu that died than ocz replaced it with a 1000w psu that doa once it arrived to my door. I no longer wanted to go with the ocz brand.

I had a few parts laying around and someone offered a trade of a brand new enermax 1350 psu. It was perfect timing as I needed a psu, so I went with it. :)

nice build in the crystal 570x.. wait what? 1+!

  • 1 point

Thank you! The 570X is quiet a beautiful case which came out after I did all this.

I thought for a few seconds.. damn I wish I bought this, than put that behind me.

  • 1 point

honestly this looks better than the 570x imo. The glass panels kinda popping off on that case really irks me off, but this looks very sleek and well done. Amazing mod, made me love the h440 that much more :D

Aren't you one of the winners from the MSI contest?

  • 2 points

Yes... yes I am. I didn't think I would ACTUALLY call out Russia with that comment tho :P

  • 2 points

Maybe just an ironic coincidence that I stumbled upon your comment or maybe it was fate? I did notice your comment right away because I'm Russian but I slowed down and looked at your builds. I respect the mods you did to the prebuilt case. I always check for new featured build first thing when I open my browser. After looking over this amazing featured build I then was curious to see if they announced the winners for the MSI contest and noticed your name since it stuck with me after looking over your builds, so I had to come back and comment congrats comrade you deserve it!

I planned on putting more info in the description but got tied up and had to submit what I had so far. I was shocked to see it approved and all the positive feedback from everyone.

It does look beautiful and impressively Tetris looking, but... Is it even strong enough to play Tetris? I'm not sure...

+1

I do not believe it can play tetris but as long as it looks cool is the main thing lol!

Thank you so much.

The MSI 980ti Lightning , one of my favourite GPUs even though its color was usually at odd with any other parts.

I love the lightning and felt the yellow and black theme was perfect for it :) just need to get my hands on a second one somewhere lol.

What did you use the for custom windows?

Optix clear acrylic sheets from homedepot

Did you happen to make this build for Wiz Khalifa or Gucci Mane?

  • 1 point

Lol if I had to pick one out of the two I would say for Gucci

  • 1 point

Really love all the modding that you've done. It must of been quite a time consuming project. I think the MSI Lighting has to be one of the the most sexiest gpu's ever. I even used it for the MSI build your dream PC contest, which we all know that lucky sob Jipster won.

  • 1 point

It took quiet a long time, much longer than I anticipated. It could have been shortened down a lot but I just kept thinking and adding things to it as ideas going along. I wanted to be able to look at it and believe I did everything I could of to make it unique.

I also am a big fan of the lightning, it seems there are a few out there that are not but I think it's an awesome line for msi gpus.

Thanks again russkie

  • 1 point

Yea I know the feeling when you just want everything to be perfect and as soon as you that's it you think of something else to make it even better just nitpicking every little thing. I honestly think the plastic dust filter square outlines give it a more Tetris like look for the theme, but I also think it will have cleaner look if you removed them.

Not bad for less than $3000. I don't have that kind of money, but I'm a fan!

  • 2 points

I do not have that kind of money either lol. It was a long planned out build, started off with other components and did lots and lots of trading of parts vs buying brand new.

  • 1 point

The modding is so well done, nice job.

  • 1 point

Thank you. It took a lot of time to get it perfect.

Do you just do stunningly amazing stuff as a hobby? Like "Oh, I just dabble in amazing..."

  • 1 point

Lol, I wish all my work turned out this good haha.

This was the first time I have ever attacked this type of work, my main profession is a heavy duty mechanic. Completely different side of the field lol.

  • 1 point

You can think of yourself as a computer mechanic too now! It's a very impressive build.

I failed miserably trying to make my workstation nice and color coordinated. I eventually gave up and stuffed it in a windowless Define R5 case, lol...

  • 1 point

Lol I was hoping it would go smooth as butter the whole way, I ran into a few issues but it just took longer to deal with. Half way through I thought to myself Why didnt I just buy a windowed case and call it a day but I kept telling myself it would be worth it in the end.

  • 1 point

But the question is!! Can it run Tetris?!?!?!

Answer: Probably yes.

  • 1 point

I can only run Tetris on low quality settings with msaa off lol

  • 1 point

I just want to thank everyone for their amazing feedback!

I received a message from someone locally congratulating me for making the featured pc build on pcpartpicker. I thought naww.. He must of mixed up which pc he saw.

So I jumped on to see and to my surprise there it was.

I was very happy with the outcome of my pc and still have some plans on little editions to it down the road, after seeing that others were happy with my build it gives me more confidence to do another.

Thanks again!

Hows the AIO cooler? I read a lot of mixed reviews, and the bad ones almost always broke/leaked. That worries me a lot in a system i plan to pay $3000 for

  • 1 point

I love it, works perfect! My temps are great.

I had the previous model and never had any leaking problems either. I have not come across any reviews about them leaking.

It is always something to worry about with any aio:s

  • 1 point

Do they provide the clear tubing as well? I see the same cooler in other places with black tubing.

Also how do you think it fairs up (or will fair up in a kaby lake setup) versus the NZXT Kraken X62 in terms of keeping things cool?

  • 1 point

They come standard with clear tubing, mine is clear tubing.

I can not see it being an issue at all, I'm not really too sure of the temps of kaby but it keeps my i7-4790k very cool.

My i7 is at 4.6ghz and my idle temp is around 23 degrees Celsius and running aida64 for a couple hours it stays below 60.

Wow, thats really good. Thanks for the information!

  • 1 point

Impressive build mate :D!

Short question, what display mount are you using for the x34?

  • 1 point

Thank you.

The mount is a North Bayou Universal Full Motion Articulating Gas Spring Wall Monitor TV Mount, from 40 - 50" and holds between 17lbs to 35lbs.

The x34 mounted perfectly on it, folds in snug to the wall.

I got it from amazon.ca for $27 at the time but the price has gone up a bit.

The coolant I used is made by Mayhem. It is mayhem pastel sunset yellow.

I purchased it from www.dazmode.com

hey!!! ur build is amazing man. May i know what rgb you're using and where did u get those amazing yellow lightbar ram? Really appreciate if u can answer my question. thx ^

  • 1 point

Thank you!

The rgb is the HUE+ kit that I purchased from newegg

The light bars for the dominators I had to make, I had the lightbar upgrade kit for the ram but they only come with red and blue inserts. I decided to take the clear that comes stock with the ram and used yellow nail polish to paint the clear insert. Now they light up yellow :)

I plan on changing the front filter so that it is not so tacky looking, maybe by removing the cross bars and a different filter.

I already owned the cpu and gpu in my other plain Jane tower build before I decided to customize the h440 case.

I bought the h440 windowless for my son and liked it too much, so kept the tower and switched my components over and customized little things for the components. Such as all the cables, connectors and everything to make it black and yellow.

Than made all the windows, lighting, covers, colored light bars, all case less to yewllow etc to make it my unique pc.

Potentially I may do another with newly released gear but currently this does me well :)
