Description

Hello guys! My name is juniorvid and this is my first build! I am very happy for building at such a young age (I'm 12) but there were some snags. My parents (who paid for everything, thank you!) told me that I couldn't get anything for my birthday for the next 3 years. I'm okay with that.Tell me what you think of it!

The LEDs for anyone wondering are home partical blues. Just search home partical on google and click on the Amazon link. Adhesive isn't very strong. Will upload new pics without one of the strips hanging down at nighttime.

I really like this considering that this is the first desktop in my family's household in 8 years.

I have one piece of advice though for other builders of my age: Don't let your mom in! They will intimidate you by saying "Don't fry that!" and stuff like that.

Upgrades: Sleeved cables in the future?

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU, very easy to overclock. Performing great so far.

CPU Cooler

AMAZING cooler for the price. It's cooling my CPU at 4.4GHz at 66 C on full load.

Motherboard

Great motherboard! Comes with 3 month Xsplit premium membership. Only problem was that one of the fan headers was faulty.

Memory

Very nice memory! Didn't have to enable XMP, automatically clocked to correct speed.

Storage

This SSD rocks! Boot time is around 5-7 seconds.

Video Card

Ah yes, the part of the build that turns this from a humble web browser into an amazing editing and gaming machine. This rocks! Comes with 2 week xsplit membership, is extremely quiet when the fans spin, and it is so strong!

Case

So, this case is pretty good. The window looks awesome and the power supply cover is great. Cable management is easy.

Power Supply

This power supply is great. A ton of wattage, semi modular, and I can't even hear the fan! Lost a star for not very flexible cables.

Operating System

Meh. Pretty good I guess. Will be upgrading to windows 10 soon.

Case Fan

Very quiet fan. Would recommend. Except for screwing it in. It is not tapped correctly!

Headphones

Comfortable and 7.1 sound.

Do you plan on sleeving them yourself? If so, don't unless you have 72 straight hours to spare lol.

And does it cost about $50~90 or maybe less if one only wanted the ATX connectors for a base color version? If one didn't want to do the work.

I got this entire kit for only $45 AUD, with a 24 pin, two 6+2 pins and a 4+4 pin CPU power.

EDIT: And they come in heaps of different colours.

Nice! I knew someone would have a better price range. Though that is certainly far away from where I live but that is a swell price tag! Better looking too. Thanks fred for sharing this. :)

I might, but then I will need a crimper and crimps and a lot more stuff I don't have. I'll most likely just buy blue or white extensions.

Great build! +1 - wow you have great parents. How well does that gpu perform? Would you recommend it?

JuniorVid submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Gpu performs great! Plays gta 5 at very high settings at 90 fps. Will test bf4 later today.

noap7 1 point 23 months ago

JuniorVid submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Yes at 1080p

noap7 1 point 23 months ago

Wow! Yea. I'll definitely throw this into my rig until pascal rolls around sometime within the next year or so. Thnx man!

JuniorVid submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

No problem, but what is pascal? :P

Pyromaniac579 1 point 23 months ago

Cool! Very Similar to my future build (and yes I find it cool other 12 year old's can do this as well.)

JuniorVid submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks! I have one VERY important piece of advice though: DON'T LET YOUR MOM IN WHILE YOU ARE BUILDING! She will distract/intimidate you and make you drop screws.

Pyromaniac579 1 point 23 months ago

LOL I can imagine that :)
