So It's been in my head for a while, since my main hobby is MTB and outdoor I am often frustrated with my old rig, especially having to play PUGB at low/med.
Old rig (2013) i5 3340 SSD 840 250 2x4 RAM ddr3 1600 mhz asus p8 z77 MOBO GTX 650ti
So my main games are Dota 2 and CS GO, now PUGB and Starcraft, I was in a rush for a video card and I ended up for an MSI GTX 1060 3g (my local dealer didn't have the 6GB at stock so I just took it).
After that my CPU was bottlenecking and I decided to make a whole new upgrade, bought first the PSU after the GPU. I was initially interested on the i5 8400 but last month its been out of stock everywhere literally, even at USA, so seeing the 8350k and 8100 really cheap and performing the same as an i5 7th gen, It was a no brainer for me. Picked the 8100 instead 8350k cause there were not much benefit going higher and also needed a CPU cooler, so its fine, later I will get a 8600k with a 1070ti if I get into games a lot.
I tried my best in cable management with this case, I guess I did well, looks really nice in the day and with lights off the MOBO has some light on the bottom plus the other LED.
At 1080p resolution with this RIG I get 200+ fps at csgo, everything maxed, PUGB 80+ FPS (All high, view, AA, plants at ultra), BF4 at ultra, and prolly will struggle in newer games like Witcher 3 and ww2 at Ultra but pretty sure could handle High.
Next upgrades will be a New case, maybe a more capacity HD and a m2 960 disc if I get to sell my SSD.
Really good CPU, the same performance as a quad core i5 6th 7th Generation, capable of running all current games at 1080p. Best in value/performance for sure.
The MOBO pick was mainly because availability, color scheme (love red/black), same brand as GPU and is not expensive. Really easy to install, quality components and I just needed to turn on the XMP profile on EZ mode (1 button) to OC my RAM from 2133 to 1933. A breeze...
I found the RAM DDR4 kit 3000 GHz cheap so I picked it up, especially cause the brand and color. I use the rapid mode on the samsung SSD, this reserves a portion of RAM but makes the boot and loading frequent data really faster and with that active plus some tabs at Chrome while playing I was almost capped at RAM. Also having more RAM is better for games, while playing PUGB and a couple of tabs I am using around 8-10 gigs of RAM.
One of the best SSD back on the 2013, still really fast. Booting my pc in 5 secs with win 10 installed (rapid mode)
Cheap and really good looking, non modular cables are well protected and easy to hide with the black cover. All the essentials on the package included some velcro reusable ties.
