Description

I use this PC completely for gaming, I used to have a red and black build but i got bored of everyone also having the same colour. So i decided to go for a green build, i painted the heat sinks on the motherboard, but i couldn't get it to turn out right on the chipset heatsink. I have taken the small red sticker off the GPU and painted it green to, but i cannot get it to stick back on. I will upgrade and paint the ram soon, also thinking of getting a new case plus some LEDs.

Part Reviews

CPU

Very good CPU, destroys CPU crunching games like Arma 3, The Crew etc, not really needed for a gamer like me but i had the money and i wanted to buy something which can do pretty much everything.

CPU Cooler

Cools everything very well, even an AMD (i had an 8370 before this), but seriously I love this cooler and the way it looks is perfect

Thermal Compound

It's thermal paste...

Motherboard

Very nice motherboard, even though i hated the red and painted it green, it was very worth it in the end... No issues with anything to do with this motherboard...

Memory

I had this lying around (it's a place holder until i can get a hold of different RAM)Looks terrible but doesn't affect performance

Storage

Good i guess... I will be trying to get a M.2 SSD soon

Video Card

VERY GOOD, i paid just under $700 AUD for this graphics card, so even though a normal priced 980 would be considered 'over priced' this one is very good. Destroys any game at 1080p (i play at 1920x1200 because i need a new monitor) I'm kinda sad that there isn't a backplate standard.

Case

Super good case for the money, though mine came scratched I love it a lot. Lots of room for a whole bunch of stuff...

Power Supply

I had a Seasonic S12II 620w wihich wasn't enough for what i was going to do so people suggested me this, I do not regret a single cent.

Case Fan

best fans in the world, i loved Noctua but hated the look, then when i found out they had black ones i bought them straight away... Then i found they had different coloured corners... I was so happy, i dont even care about the more premium price.

Keyboard

I needed a mech keyboard and I saw this, i loved the lighting effects so i jumped for it right away, even though people hate Razor products, i love them and haven't had any faults...

Mouse

Said to be one of the best mouses for the price so i just went with it to match my keyboard...

Headphones

Best headset, i love the comfort, sound of the speakers and microphone. I have had to replace the controller cable once and also have a problem with the headset mic sometimes not working (it's because of the 3.5mm audio jack)

Looks amazing with the color scheme. That case is great, I have it myself. Very well done.

(Also, at first I thought you had no RAM...)

When i get the Corsair Dominator Platinum, I will paint the top metal pieces of the heatsink too, i hope it will work. Also my case window panel is scratched like hell, it came scratched and has just kept getting worse. I will getting a Enthoo Luxe soon tho!

Same, red and black is over-frickin-rated. Great build.

+1. Green and black is like my ultimate goal for a build. So seeing one very well made just gets me hype.

Im not happy with the chipset heatsink tho, i might need to get different paint other than plastidip, i tried doing it but taking off the masking tape peeled off the paint with it :/ (i only used it because i can peel it off if something goes wrong with the motherboard and i need to send it back)

Ahh it's fine. I suppose you could use a brush to apply it, but it will probably add a brush stroke texture. If you adjusted your pictures, you might get featured, but based on the current ordinary looking featured build I'm not sure what the hell the criteria is. Maybe it's just a random selection now.

Im not good at all with photos, i took the pictures on a Galaxy S5... I didn't even think that people would like it that much too. I just put a few photos on because i was bored, ill try take some new and better quality ones soon

Sounds good. Yeah I try to use my phone's camera as well. The most recent phone has produced some ok pictures but I lack the skill to produce pretty scenes.

I will push it a lot more but it is hot down here in Australia so i would much rather not die from the heat from outside and the heat from my pc :P I will go for more when it is colder

Like the color scheme. Are you worried about the paint chipping over time?

a little... I can always just take the mobo out, remove the heatsinks and take off the green blades and repaint them

  • 1 point

Why not change your mobo to Gigabyte G1 Sniper B7? it's color is green.
